Aw, I love that memory 🙂 It reminded me of my own origami memory a long time ago. A boy from my old church, who had a chronic disease, had made an origami dragon (he was great at it), and I still have it actually.
And so when I read that, I had to read the story you said you wrote and girl, that was nothing short of beautiful. The…[Read more] -

@typewriter77 From the posts I’ve seen about how to pick locks or shoplift at the beginning whoever wrote it always puts a huge disclaimer that these tips are for writing purposes only and not for in real life.
I myself am usually too lazy to go into detail about anything, lest I mess any details up, or, perhaps, accidentally teach someone how to…[Read more]

Lin replied to the topic Themes for mystery/thriller? in the forum Mystery 5 years, 3 months ago
@typewriter77 A lot of those themes seem to work, in my opinion! God’s Justice vs Man’s Justice I’m not sure could be written in just a short story…maybe a longer work. Courage, trust, and Truth vs Deception could be in any work, I think, and Sin & Salvation as well as Loving Enemies both propose great story premises.
Good luck!

@typewriter77 Hmm…I would say it is possible, since a lot of anime and manga are based off of Japanese light novels.
Both of those projects sound awesome! I’d love to hear more about them in the future!
I think I’ve read the first book of the Ascendance series. It was pretty good. And I’ve yet to watch either of those movies, but I should p…[Read more]

That is an incredibly cute story! And you added ghosts? How does that sound amazing!:)
As for me, this happens a lot. I see things in real life and -this is why I carry writing supplies everywhere, even just around the farm- jot random things down from a man riding out of a grocery store on a shopping cart to a boy and girl that…[Read more]

That’s awesome! 😀 To be honest, I think my first two drafts were zero drafts as well, and looking at my new draft as a first draft, makes approaching it much better as well:) Good luck 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

That’s awesome! I would highly recommend ‘Dark Horse’ by John Fischer. It’s a beautiful short allegory, is my favorite book possible (fiction wise of course) and I highly recommend it! 😀

That’s awesome that you’re moving to Nova Scotia!:D
That sounds awesome and six novels? Wow, that’s incredible 😀 And from what I’m hearing about them, you should definitely try and publish after you polished them as much as possible, (but remember that there actually is an ‘enough is enough’ point. I know that sounds strange, bu…[Read more]

I think I’ve heard of Shine FM as well:)
Yes! I live in the states and am pretty sure that K Love reaches many places around the world. Hmm, but they do have it live on their website: klove.com
It’s phenomenal and I’d 100% recommend it:) -

And I positively ADORE those portraits of Evie, Arya, and Isla!!!!!!! Evie’s cloak design is so mystical and mysterious, and Arya looks just like I imagined and Isla? She’s stunning!! I adore all of your line art and the cross-hatching and shadowing effects and all of the beautiful small details like Isla’s collar:D I can’t tell…[Read more]

@relia I agree with Jenna and Lexi, you should probably edit the first book before you move on to the second one so that you have a solid foundation with the first book. Besides, sharing the first one with your family would be so fun and might even give you some useful feedback to incorporate or just keep in mind before you move on to the second book!

Lin replied to the topic To edit or not to edit… in the forum General Writing Discussions 5 years, 3 months ago
@relia I’m waiting till I finish most of my series to edit…or maybe all of it (probably because I hate editing) but also in future books I might decide to change things that happen in previous books so when I go back to rewrite or whatever I can change accordingly. Also because my writing improves the more I write.

Alexa Autorski replied to the topic To edit or not to edit… in the forum General Writing Discussions 5 years, 3 months ago
Like Jenna said, I would recommend editing the first book before moving on to the sequel. I myself am writing a trilogy, and while I’ve outlined (loosely) all three books, I’m going to completely edit them one at a time before moving onward. That way, if you get new ideas or want to tweak the storyline a bit, you have the freedom to…[Read more]

@kathleenramm It was one of those homeschool minivans, which is lowkey funny to me. That would make a great device, as well as a way to introduce a character.

Hey there! I’d love to read your first three chapters! It’s super brave of you to put your writing out there.
If you don’t mind my asking, is there anything specific that you’re looking for feedback on? Or are you trying to get a general impression of reader interest?
Anyway, I’m super excited to read your chapters!

First of all, I think that’s so brave of you to be posting your first three chapters!! 🙂 I know it can be scary to let other people see your work, and it’s totally normal to feel nervous about this (I know I did), but I would LOVE to read through your chapters!! I can already tell you’re such a talented writer. 😉 And I love fantasy…[Read more]
