*rather lengthy preamble*
Y’all, Koshka and I are relisting to LotR. It’s not a story I grew up reading, but it played an important part of my mid teens. And now that we’re going over these familiar chapters again, I find myself commenting “Oh, I love this part! This is my favorite chapter.” Over and over again. XD We were so riveted the first…[Read more]

Glad you get the scammer situation taken care of!
Your art is beautiful in the skill you use and in the way it expresses emotion. Just… Awesome work. 😀 ❤️

@ellette-gisselle @Anyonewhojustwantsrandomness @koshka #@shortstories_anyone?
Here’s a snippet of my practice idea! Like Inglor, the one I shared a mood board for, this is an old character revisited. If this were a novel, this would be your first introduction to him.
The tree Almarrin had chosen in his pell-mell dash for cover was not as tall as…

Hehe. Glad you think so!
He’s a bit of a goofball, but also so serious about everything. I’m trying to decide if I want the reader to underestimate him or overestimate him. I don’t think I want anyone actually knowing what he’s capable of until the climax.
I actually started a drawing of him last night, and he looks so babyfaced.…[Read more]

Exploring characters… Here’s our favorite little Warden. Or, he will be your favorite. Hopefully.
Imagine being the surprise youngest child in a family where 1,000 is a typical life expectancy. His nephews have children older than him. Nothing lifts him out of the shadow of his brothers, where safety stifles him. That…[Read more]

Awesome. XD It won’t be much for a while. I’m trying to straighten out the worldbuilding at the moment, so just funsies.

Y’all, I have had a happy realization. Two old/side projects of mine fit so we’ll together I might mash them into something new. XD Kingdom of Shadows is a sort of allegory seasoned with not-magic while Areth is a little more ancient and more folk lore esq than medieval fantasy. I’ve wanted to work on something along these veins, to try a smaller…[Read more]

Ah. I see it is not about dying early though. Hmm.
Pioneers by 4 King and Country? It’s not tragic though it’s about facing the estrangements of time. My family loves it.
Other folkies probably have more fitting suggestions. I’ll keep on the look out, though.

If one dies, I say See You Again by Grey Havens. It’s a theme for several relationships in my books. Deeply comforting, focusing on the the “there wasn’t time for etc.” regret. I personally love the Autumn Sessions version, but there’s not really a difference.
Not entirely tragic, but absolutely possibly applicable, is Carry…[Read more]

I think I do have your email! I’ll hunt down the doc and send it then. XD Old etiquette is interesting.
I wasn’t sure which so went with the first impression. XD Makes sense though. He didn’t look entirely feminine, but I am unfamiliar with anime. I can tell with elves/LotR because of exposure to Saxon culture, but outside…[Read more]

I’ll look forward to hearing how it goes! I should be able to try my hand at calligraphy again soon, and it will be more fun when someone else is doing it. 🙂
Oooh that sounds nice! Yes, I think that’s what I meant. Have you seen the glass pens too? They’re so pretty!
Yes, I have!! They are. I’d love to try one. They look lik…[Read more]

Well, I like it. XD It’s lovely. But I can understand feeling a self portrait didn’t capture yourself accurately. I’ve done that before. But the framing and everything seems to have worked out very well. The freckles may be darker than in real life, but you choose what to emphasize with art. As it is, they help capture personality. 🙂
Also,…[Read more]

Sounds good!
Here, I’ll send you it by email. Since it’s online in other places, I’d rather be incognito on here. But also really love this alter ego…. XD

I’ve drawn self portraits before, but drawing by personality is the best. I had a blast that one time I made myself into a cartoon character. But that was a year ago. I think I’ll do this. XD
Maybe instead of my children’s ministry alter ego I’ll try actually drawing myself…Â Hmmm. Are we supposed to share our work? I wouldn’t…[Read more]

Y’all.
This is so annoying. XD I was going through some old Google docs and found fragments of fanfics that are fabulously fun to read, but they’re so short. Just when stuff gets going I got distracted and never came back to finish them. Sentences are literally left undone. I am now hunting through way too much randomness to find out if I ever…[Read more]

You’ve come a far way! The first comic is nice in its way, but the second is really beautifully done! The art is lovely, and I like the character/thought process in the comic. =D

Resurrecting this to share a paragraph I wrote today (from a WWI short story). My sister and I were cackling. That should be enough context. XD
