Nice to meet you, too, QuicksilverWyvern! Epic fantasy is the best, and I like how clearly it shows the battle between good and evil. I don’t know if you know what a LitRPG is, but in case you don’t, I’ll say they are books with a game-like system built into their structure. Characters have classes and can level up, can lose…[Read more]

First week of November! It’s time for our book discussion question, but first I want to check in with y’all.
How are things going? Any troubles finding the book or finding time to read? Any thoughts or rabbit trails?
*Thoughtful humming*
Here’s the question: What are two bits of this book that…

And there’s probably a few o…

Thanks, everyone!
My computer doesn’t like this forum for some reason, so it’s hard for me to respond to everyone individually. (My side, not your side. It glitches and stuff on my side :P)
Anyways, your advice has helped a lot!
I still can’t decide if I am a pantser or plotter.

I had the idea for a thriller. A man whose daughter is killed on her way home from school, then he (just a ordianry dad) goes on a path of revenge to hunt the killer down. Only to find himself caught up in a world of…[Read more]

@writingwren Don’t worry, I can’t stick to anything either. i’m mostly a fan fiction writer (The clean sort, always clean, we need more wholesome fan fiction in the world PLEASE and less of the gross nonsense fanfics are notorious for. But I guess you would know about that given that you read the bad romances. You know how much that stuff absol…[Read more]

So I tend to drop the project a few chapters in, or I’ve tried plotting a project, only to find out it isn’t a story. And more of just “vibes.” I’ve never dropped a project in the middle, I just push past.
I used to read all the time, but I found myself reading bad romance books, I hadn’t meant to find. So it pretty much…[Read more]

Koshka replied to the topic Flashback Tips? in the forum Plotting 1 week, 4 days ago
Flashbacks are useful literary devices. They can drop hints of mystery, clues to the story, or explain secrets.
Just have a good idea of how you’re using them in the book before you dive in. I don’t know how many times I’ve started writing something only to realize half-way through that it didn’t fit with the story. So, are…[Read more]

Ah! What a great question. Here are some thoughts:
What triggered the flash back? Memories usually have a trigger anyway, but because these are grief/trauma memories, those triggers are likely to be abrupt. They’re best if they’re comnected to the plot or character. For instance, I have a character who lost his sister at a…[Read more]

Sure, I’ll ask Paul some questions!
Hello, Paul. It’s nice to make your acquaintance.
Where are you from?
Do you have a family? Are there any people who have influenced your life positively, and who are they?
Would you tell me about this siege you’re preparing for?

I have watched the movies and read the first 3 books. I love the movies and am not a fan of the books. lol
my problem with the books is mainly the crudity. Plus they’re just weird lol. I noticed a pattern where someone/something gets swallowed alive in every book XD

Chocolate, however, I have consumed. The best is a ballance between dark and milk with some deied fruit or cookie bits in it. Unless it is Spanish truffles. Mmmmmm….
