I usually write epic fantasy with notes of sci-fi, steampunk, dystopian, wulxia, or xienxia (the last two are forms of Chinese fantasy) for the ages of YA to adult. I also enjoy writing good fan-fiction, and, no, I’m not one of those fan-fiction writers. I take fanfiction perhaps ten times more seriously than I do my own stories, and try to honor the original story whenever I write fanfiction.
I do art, largely digitally, though I do own a few sketchbooks. I mainly take up art as a way to bring my own stories to life. I’ve also drawn some graphic novel stuff and sprites for my video game, though I specialize artistically in realistic portraits, especially of characters. I love coloring books and spend meticulous time on them. I have also previously learned a little bit of 3D modelling (emphasis on the “little bit.”)
I love to compose pieces of music on a DAW for my video game, background music for my comic, songs inspired by my book, or simply for fun (though fun may be repurposed later for one of the previous three.) I also enjoy playing the piano, though am often frustrated by my puny hands. I’ve also played a tin whistle and am saving for a violin. I can sing, as I am currently in musical theater.
My other miscellaneous interests include programming, game design, table-top RPG campaign writing, crochet, and dreaming of other hobbies I could pursue if I had more time and money, such as hopefully someday learning how to make resin-dice.
