I love this idea! Only problem is I don’t know what character to submit, lol. Hmm…I’ll submit Paul (that’s his nickname–full name is Paulomaroes). He’s a fifty-six-year-old man whose made preparing for the next great siege of evil monsters his life’s ambition ever since his traumatic childhood.
There once was a snail who was depressed and would do anything for his girlfriend. Didn't end well.
October 19, 2026 at 7:39 pm #214561Sure, I’ll ask Paul some questions!
Hello, Paul. It’s nice to make your acquaintance.
Where are you from?
Do you have a family? Are there any people who have influenced your life positively, and who are they?
Would you tell me about this siege you’re preparing for?

October 20, 2026 at 6:44 pm #214584“Hello. It’s nice to meet you.” Paul reclines in his chair, not sloppily, but as someone who has been wearied with age. His red eyes are sharp with attention, though combined with his almost skeletal appearance and scar on his forehead, most would consider the expression menacing.
“I’m from a small little town inside a hardly larger valley. Where I come from, it’s pretty cold, but the valley never seemed to get much snow. I think I was the only one who ever left the town–most people wouldn’t even know it exists. Cartographers forget to put on the maps, sometimes. I don’t mind. It’s a pathetic place, and most of the people there are even more…” Paul sighs.” “Fools, is the best word. They’re even more pathetic fools than that crumbling place they live in. But I suppose that’s just the way of the world.”
“I don’t have a family of my own. My line of work hasn’t ever permitted me to settle anywhere. My parents and sister are both long passed–I left the valley as soon as they died. But I’m not completely alone. I have my party with me. Either way, I wouldn’t mind if I was completely alone. It’s the work that’s most important.”
“When I left the valley shortly after my mother and sister’s death, almost nowhere would accept me for training because of my heritage. There was one place, though, where I was finally granted entry to train in fighting. The owner of the site, Jerrianias, saw my determination and allowed me to train with the others. Most people, even if they ignore where I come from, do so with effort. Jerrianias, though, he just immediately trusted me. Easily, in fact. He even helped me trust myself better. It’s too bad his successor of the establishment had much different views on what mattered for acceptance. Thankfully, I’d long completed my training by the time Jerrianias died.”
“Ah, the great merging of the worlds. In two years’ time, the ancient boundary between the material world as we know it, and the world of Terrafictus will fade away. When that happens, all who wish to unite themselves with evil will attempt to open a bridge between the two worlds. If they succeed, every horror which has been barred away for two millennia will come pouring back out into the world. It’s my duty, my life’s purpose, to eradicate those who would bind the worlds, and prepare all who will listen for when such evil once again arises.”
