You guys are so relatable on so many levels 😂😭
I’m at 17k with my current project, but trust me this is the fastest I’ve ever written, and I’m reduced to a mere trickle. All my other WIPs are either in my head or were tediously written for fourteen seconds before being dropped into the abyss, never to be seen again. XD
@ava-blue Also, I really…[Read more]

*APPLAUSE*
Focus is everything. I agree with everyone on here in that there’s a balance. We need to see the darkness behind our backs and the light before us, before we can take a step.
By the way, nice to meet you! XD Gummy bears for the win! I’ve had long, psychologically challenging conversations about gummy bears. Believe…[Read more]

Enid started the topic How to Portray Adoptive Parents Realistically in the forum General Writing Discussions 4 years ago
Hi! Um…so, I’ve been trying to write this story with an adoptive parents – adopted child relationship, and I want to make sure I’m not making these parents seem irresponsible or vague in their decision-making.
This boy, Kit, has been living with his next-of-kin after his parents disappeared on an expedition. He’s twelve, but so far, it’s more…[Read more]

@wilder-w That’s a beautiful question 😊
First of all, I just want to say how relatable your story is. Something I’ve been trying to define for myself is how much unclean words we should read before it’s crossing the line. A lot of people are concerned about going to far. But you said, when we read that stuff, we’re exposed to the real world. And…[Read more]

@queen_of_alvastia Probably. I have a feeling there weren’t many only children in the Wingfeather family, since the Maker was watching them. Funny thing is, my dad sort of has that Kalmar vibe, and my mum is definitely the responsible, good-with-words person. XD
@annabethkatherinewingfeather Yeah, I relate a lot with the whole…[Read more]

Enid replied to the topic What do you love most about your current WIP? in the forum Topic of the Week 4 years ago
I feel as if this WIP is really shining compared to my previous projects, which feels so good. Usually characters are my focus, and they still are, but I’m not pantsing pantsing like I used to. Everything’s sorta falling into place.
Oh, and the theme is family, which I feel very passionate about – yeah.

Mum Throne Warden, Dad… he’s an only child.
O.o Wonder how that would work out.

Cool to see this has started up again! So many twins 😂
My favorite character is Janner, and I am Throne Warden to a High King, Song Maiden, and three Lore Wains. Pretty simple, I guess.
Btw, I invested in the tv show. If some people don’t know, first episode’s coming out December 2nd!

People.
Where have you been all my life.

Enid replied to the topic What Are Your Favorite WIP Quotes? 🙂 in the forum General Writing Discussions 4 years ago
Thank you 🙂 It’s middle-grade fantasy. Personally, I think we need more writers writing for younger audiences. There is a lot of good stuff out there, but it’s overlooked sometimes as a genre.

@freedomwriter76 @queen_of_alvastia @koshka
Wow, these quotes are amazing and funny and deep!! (I’d put a heart emoji here, but I don’t know how to on a keyboard XD) Thank you SO much for sharing!
I look at these, and I think… hehe… I guess my WIP takes a different approach…

2. Alfonso’s…[Read more]

Hello, and thanks for welcoming me! I would love to hear a random poem now and then 😊
C.S. Lewis is awesome! When I was little, I used to listen to the Narnia books on audio night and day – I practically had Dawn Treader memorized.
I did move here summer of 2020, so we got the brunt of the heat.
1. Oh, character, definitely, mainly…[Read more]

When I’m finding it hard to work on my WIP, or when I’m looking at the whole and trying to decide how much of it I need to rewrite, I make a list of my favorite quotes from my work – whether they be bits of dialogue, exposition, or a real funny joke. These sort of give me an idea of what I want the story to be. What I want in terms of style.
I’d…[Read more]

@freedomwriter76 😂 What kind of His-Fic do you write?
Thanks! Maybe I’ll share a snippet or two in the Character forum 😉
I only recently became a Southerner myself! I used to live in Wisconsin, so that explains the hot chocolate. Idk, maybe my preferences will change over time.

I’m not on it anymore, but I’ve thought about joining again! Depends on if I have time, or if I have a pivotal question about writing that’ll save my entire career 😂
Not my favorite, but my family has pancakes at least once per week, so it made sense in light of the story theme. Chocolate chip pancakes are irresistible, tho!

Ah, the never-ending paradox that is the writer. Is not weirdness subjective to that person who contemplates it? I see I have found another of my kind… Nice to meet you, too XD

I’m Hannah, aka WhaleKeeper. Nice to meet you! (How do you compliment a writer, anyway? ‘By the way, I really like the way your adjectives shine this morning.’ ‘Oh, how thoughtful, your stylistic elements are just spiffing!’ I repeat, how?)
Anyway, I’m a Christian teen writer like the rest of you, and after trying out YWW, I heard about this…[Read more]
