I’m creating this topic for the purpose of sharing what God is doing in our lives! I love hearing from others what God is teaching them, what He’s done in their lives… anything big or small! Hearing about His faithfulness in someone else’s life always encourages me that He will be faithful to me, too, and stirs my faith to believe He will…[Read more]

Ok, I know I already have too many WIP’s, but I had another idea I’ve been working on this week. I’ve been doing a crazy amount of research for this one and haven’t started any writing yet, which is a bit unusual for me because usually I start writing and research what I need to know as I go. (Probably not the best method, but that’s how I roll…[Read more]

Introducing….Marcurious!!!
Here’s the newest chapter I wrote in my WIP:
Marcurious deftly snatched a ripe apple from the market stall, and sauntered away, holding his head high as if without a care in the world.
He pasted a look of innocence on his face.
I didn’t steal this apple. Nope. I p…

yes I’ve read the hiding place and I absolutely love it! Have you ever heard of Darlene Deibler? She’s also one of my favorites and she has an AMAZING book that I think is sort of similar to Corrie’s.
Oh cool, I’ve never heard of her. I’ll have to check that out!
Kaylin is the oldest child. She’s very protective, loyal and quick. But…

I’m not entirely sure how I want to close out the story. At this point I know they’re gonna get married but I don’t know if I want to try to add another conflict in there or something or just wrap it up. I also don’t think weddings were the same back then; I think they were usually more of a quiet family celebration but I haven’t…[Read more]

OK, this segment is basically the farthest I’ve gotten in the story so far. Lmk if you have any suggestions for things that could happen from here on out!
That summer marked the beginning of a new season for me as Albert and I formally entered into a courtship. Albert walked me home from church nearly…[Read more]

Ok, I know this doesn’t have to do with writing whatsoever… but I love hearing about how other people celebrate Christmas, so I started this topic to share everything Christmas! I’m gonna list out a bunch of questions, and you can answer whatever you desire.
Biggest one: how do you celebrate Christmas Eve/Christmas? (family gatherings, church…[Read more]

K, I got some more for ya!

Let me know if anything in this scene feels too cliche! I think you’ll like it.
Nearing the end of July, we were spending a Sunday afternoon at the Culliver’s. Etta and Chester were there; it was the first time they’d joined us all since I’d begun talking to them again.

It was a dry, dry summer. The crops suffered, and Pa worried that they wouldn’t grow to full height in time to produce. There was also the constant fear of prairie fires. Some nights the horizon glowed orange, from the wild, consuming flames miles away.
I finally found the courage to talk to C…[Read more]
