You watch Assassination Classroom? Lol. My brother’s super into that. He says it’s quite inappropriate in humour, though, so I haven’t watched it yet. The next one I’m thinking of watching is Dr. Stone. You ever read or watched that one?
Also, I meant to ask, what’s the content like in Code Geass and Steins;Gate?

I understand how you feel about the first book in terms of its plot, but I have to say I always found it quite funny. The three introductions made me laugh out loud, just his whole whimsical writing style in general, and his deliberate use of redundancy. (Gnag the Nameless, the Dark Sea of Darkness, etc)
I also…[Read more]

I’m not sure if this counts, but The Keeper of the Lost Cities series has some modern stuff tied in, because the main character was raised in our world. Even if it doesn’t count, it’s one of the best fantasies I’ve read since Harry Potter and Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive.
(It probably doesn’t count. But it’s a great series and I’…[Read more]

Yes, Violet Evergarden is amazing! It goes quite deep into war trauma and what it would be like if the only thing you’d ever known was the military, and how to learn how to be a feeling, caring human again after only thinking you were a tool. It’s heartbreaking. Made me cry in several places. Has a great sou…[Read more]

I just read the Story Peddler by an Enclave author. They let you have it for free if you sign up to their site.😁 I would probably try to get an agent first — and I think I’ve found one that will hopefully work if I can ever get my project up to scratch (and trimmed in word count. The biggest Enclave will take is 140k from a deb…[Read more]

Cool! I mean, I’m a fast reader, but I have all these other books I’m trying to read at the moment, so I think I’ll wait until your novelette opens up for betas😊.
Have you heard of Enclave? It’s a smaller publishing house that is purely about Christian fantasy and sci-fi. You can submit to them without an agent too, if you want to…[Read more]

I know, right?! It’s the best. And it has one of the most satisfying endings I’ve ever seen.❤️ Did you know, that because it’s kinda in the anime style anyway, it’s the only anime-style western program the Japanese acknowledge as an anime? Or I’ve heard something like that, anyway.😁
We get our mangas off Book Depository. It’s in E…[Read more]

I think my older sister has watched Erased! As for Fullmetal Alchemist, I haven’t actually watched it or read it, but both my older siblings have, and my brother in particular has told me a bit about it. What made him like it so much? Apparently (this is Brotherhood version I’m talking about) it’s just such a well-done story. There…[Read more]

I watched the SAO anime series up to the end of the Gungale arc. My cousin kinda got sick of cutting so much stuff at that point, fair enough😂.
Yeah, my brother loves Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. He says it’s like one of his favourite animes, and perhaps the best anime he’s ever seen. He once found a meme he who…[Read more]

Trahia the Minstrel replied to the topic What's a book that hasn't aged well for you? in the forum Topic of the Week 3 years ago
Yeah, the second season has a lot more drama. But the mangas go way further in the story than the anime, so I’m really enjoying reading them! (We’re up to 16 in English, now, cause I can’t read Japanese that well😅😂)
Yeah, Shirayuki’s character growth — she kinda doesn’t develop a lot for a bit. But in the mangas, after where the a…[Read more]

I look forward to it!😁
I’m thinking of making this it’s own topic sometime, but do you think it’s cool to write fantasy as a Christian that’s not overtly Christian and isn’t really about the characters’ faith or the Creator in their world, but has a lot of Christian themes in it, like hope, sacrifice, good family relationshi…[Read more]

Bree … one of my favourite female characters to this day.😊
And Mikkel — he has such a great character arc! I also really loved his eventual brother-like relationship with Devin. And Devin and Bree’s relationship is great, too!
I love how non-soppy the romance is in this series is. It also grows so gradually and naturally — somethi…[Read more]

Trahia the Minstrel replied to the topic What's an unexpected benefit you got from writing? in the forum Topic of the Week 3 years ago
I think the thing that writing taught me was first of all, like you said, how to understand different people and their motivations and how nobody thinks of themselves as a bad guy, but also secondly, how God is looking after us.
Think about it. When we write stories, we put our characters through all kinds of pain and suffering,…[Read more]

Brothers, am I right?😂 I loved watching anime with my bro, though. Have you ever tried Snow White with the Red Hair? I’d recommend it as one of the cleanest anime’s I’ve watched. Here’s what could be viewed as dodgy about it:
In the first episode, the prince of her home kingdom tries to convince her to be his concubine. She runs away an…[Read more]
