Joy replied to the topic What made you start writing stories? How old were you when you started? in the forum Topic of the Week 6 years, 1 month ago
@kathleenramm I mean you have a point. XD But at least I had fun.
Maybe I would if I even had novels. But I don’t. Art is my main thing right now. *shrug* Most of the writing I do nowadays is blogging, but I have done a little bit of fiction writing before and it is fun. It’s just not my go-to activity right now. 🙂

@warrenluther04Â Yep, I feel that. This whole year has been really really slow for me and my family. It can be a downer. But I’ve managed to find things to do and friends to talk to which is nice. How’s your writing going? Anything in particular you’re working on? (I guess I could go back and read the previous comments but I’m lazy hahah)

@rochellaine It was fun, eh? XD I almost miss it. I half-expected you to make fun of my rather not-beast-like photo hahah. I suppose it was only a matter of time before I had to admit the truth. . . 😛
Yeah, most of the creative stuff I do nowadays is art and drawing. But I would like to find a way to exercise my writing muscle somehow too.

@jenna-terese Gotcha. That’s about what I expected.
@rochellaine Hi!!! I’ve missed you! 😀 😀 How have you been?

I’ve been making stories pretty much my entire life. Although growing up, most of them were in the form of stick figure scribbles in notebooks. I think the first time I considered trying out story-telling in the form of the written word was shortly after I turned thirteen. I attempted a children’s book series about a girl named Julia and her…[Read more]

H’lo. . . . I don’t know who exactly is in charge of this stuff but may I make a suggestion for something to add to the new website interface? I think it would be great if there was an easily-accessible place to log in and out of the website/forums. As far as I can tell the only way for me to log on is to open a forum topic, scroll down and sign…[Read more]

@jenwriter17Â So I’ve been informed. I think it’s super exciting! Has activity on KP been picking up at all? How busy is it compared to pre-Story Embers? (asking because I haven’t been on in months and it’s kinda hard to tell from here XP)
I’ve been all right. Nothing much to report on my end. I’ve been spending quarantine talking to online…[Read more]

Hey, y’all! It’s been a while. Just wanted to check in to see how everyone was doing. I didn’t want to make a new topic so here I am in Writers’ Corner. 😛 Hope you don’t mind.
Anything fun been happening around here? 🙂

Grace H. replied to the topic hey, hello, hi in the forum Start HERE 6 years, 2 months ago
@merieshenanigans My retelling is of Beauty and the Beast! It’s contemporary fantasy, and I am actually handwriting it this time because that helps me get things done instead of stressing about what I’ve already written. So even though I still write slow, what I write stays there instead of getting deleted, lol.
Yes, being a TCK is always c…[Read more]

@merieshenanigans ä½ å¥½! I’m Grace and welcome to the forum! I also enjoy fantasy, and my current WIP is a fairytale retelling 🙂
Your soon-to-be-named WIP sounds really cool. Can you tell me more of what it’s about?
Also I’m curious why you feel like you’re not an actual TCK… because I think it means different things for different people. Lik…[Read more]

Grace H. replied to the topic Poem Tag Renewal Idea? in the forum Poetry 6 years, 3 months ago
@leon-fleming This sounds like a great idea!
You’ve been tagging me in a lot of poetry-related things, haha… but I’m not sure I would consider myself a poet, except perhaps in the long-rambly free verse genre.
I think for this thread, I would caution that we check our hearts before writing, so that we’re genuinely glorifying God and not trying…[Read more]

Grace H. replied to the topic TOTW – What is a story cliche that you like? in the forum Start HERE 6 years, 3 months ago
@kathleenramm Yeah, I see what you mean about the incompetent hero being relatable. I think every person is fundamentally insecure about something, so having that played out in a book usually strikes a chord.
I like the forbidden love type (Romeo and Juliet, the song Rewrite the Stars, etc). I don’t know why exactly. It’s usually very feel-sy…[Read more]

@leon-fleming Yeah, after seeing a little bit about your WIPs I figured it was related to Tolkien somewhat. That’s amazing how you discovered a lot of existing things on your own!
Yeah, and people even recommend that speech therapists even study linguistics alongside to help inform the work that they do.
@katherine-h Wow, that’s great! Welcome…[Read more]
