YES YES YES, you guys should join if you can. It’s super fun and rewarding, and there are a lot of awesome resources on there 🙂 It starts on January 8th, I think

Wow, this is now an art thread AND a Star Wars thread XD
Thank you! 😜
I’d say, if you’re in a rut, either take a break (because you’re burned out), or try a different style for a while (because you’re frustrated). I switched to chibi for a few drawings because I felt annoyed at my own style, but now that I’ve gone…[Read more]

At your service
Is that a Redwall fan that I sense? 😎 I don’t remember if you told me, but you seem the type. That comment gave me strong nostalgia, let me tell you.
This is kind of random, but you remind me a lot of someone I met at a winter camp in North Carolina. Any chance… ?

That sounds great – and, I mean, you never know 😉 Maybe your scripts will become something more. If you ever need a voice, I’m at your service!

Enid replied to the topic New year, new WIP anyone? in the forum General Writing Discussions 3 years, 8 months ago
I love your character’s name, @mineralizedwritings 😍
I’ve been working on a new WIP since Christmas. I have several projects that I try to seriously focus on, but I found my old notebook, and decided to rewrite the tangled mess that used to be my dream book. That’s where the Phoenix Kid is from, btw.
Kinda Arabian Nights vibes, but not. The…[Read more]

I just realized that each of my WIPs have a very small amount of characters. Like, my biggest cast consists of around a dozen characters, tops 😂 So I’m going to pull from multiple projects.
And as an extra challenge, I’m going for an all-child-or-teen cast here. Hehe.
1. Ringbearer:Â Ohhh, I don’t know… I’d like to be a hobbit or a dwarf. That…[Read more]

Ooh, this sounds fun… You know, you could also incorporate worm holes. That could have something to do with how they escape. And maybe some rogue planets end up in there too.
And for a title, umm… I’ll think about it 😉

Okay, okay, this opinion checks out 😜 It is middle-grade leaning into YA (or YA leaning into middle-grade?), after all. So the humour is prioritized sometimes.
Ooo, who is the Correct Boy™, specifically? O.O
Because, if you mean Keefe, he is undoubtedly better than Fitz. Just sayin’.
Yeah, they are different, in style of writing m…[Read more]

Right, that was another thing. But I felt like, if they hadn’t said, ‘this is scientifically accurate but humans think it’s magic,’ or if they explained it, it would have settled better. But otherwise, the magic was perfectly fine with me. Made sense, didn’t feel too crazy different, but still unfamiliar. Good sytem.

I was inspired by @mineralizedwriting’s chibi version of Tauren, and drew my own chibi version of… Well, kind of me. Except it’s just my personality. I actually look way more calm and serious in real life – and don’t look anything like this physically – but in my head, I’m the most insecure clutz 😂

Just popping on to say, this looks awesome! And I subscribed to Sarah’s blog several months back. Her posts are creepily relatable… *shifting eyes* I remember looking through her archives and finding her own Fellowship of the Ring gang.
I’ll be sure to put my own on here soon. 😉 Thank you for the topic!

If you’re uncomfortable with talking about it, we’ll drop the subject. Besides, this is for the KotLC debate, people.

If you’re not allowed to read Harry Potter, then KotLC is probably same deal. I personally don’t care for it myself, but some people on here like it, and their options are valid too 😊 Here’s a blurb I wrote real quick:
Sophie Foster, a shunned child genius, can’t seem to relate to anyone, not even her family. Not only is she super…[Read more]

@felicity
I think it’s awesome that your dad let you research and determine that it wasn’t the right thing for you 😊 I guess you could say it’s a combination of things for you, and if it’s not your thing on a preference level, that’s cool.
HP is indeed more detailed when it comes to the magic. And you have a good point when it comes to readers…[Read more] -

I agree that hate for Harry Potter was passed down, but of course if someone’s parents tell them to avoid it, I’m not attacking that at all. Obedience is always better in those kind of situations.
Yeah, I’ve always found that although the line between ‘just magical’ and ‘satanic’ can be blurry, Harry Potter has nothing to do with…[Read more]

Btw, I started a topic about this too, so when I saw this, I thought yay, more people XD
I agree that the ‘breaking the rules’ trope is typical for the magical schools. I think it depends on the context. Honestly, I think it’s perfectly fine to read books with that stuff in it, unless you’re easily influenced by the characters’ actions. I don’t…[Read more]
