I also like the Chosen One hero, but sometimes I feel like it’s a bit over done in fantasy and dystopian novels.

Yeah, I definitely agree about anti-heros. I really like strong and inspiring characters, that although are from from perfect, are still striving for good.

Perhaps we should start with the type of blurb you want to do? I know some authors summarize the beginning of the story and the main conflict, others will just use a quote from the book (Jonathan Rogers did this with The Bark of the Bog Owl),

OH MY GOODNESS, girl, this is INCREDIBLE!!! I LOOOVED how you compared love and all that to sea and land, since the girl’s a pirate. It just gave it that much more depth. And that ending. *clutches heart* it was BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
