Ohhhh. That’s going to take an adjustment. XD Interesting! So they work more like “Mom” and “Dad.”
Hm. Cool. What if a letter is addressed to someone by their full name (in the opening of the letter)?
I’m not quite sure if I’m following the terms of endearment. So most ToE are stand-alone, but “chan” is a suffix? Am I understanding that…[Read more]

Spending a day writing in a lavish mansion sounds amazing.
A spy that rides horses frequently? That sounds totally cool.
I loved fairies when I was younger and would draw tons of pictures of them, but I’ve actually never written a story with them. It’s so cool that you are! I feel like there…[Read more]

Hey everyone, so Wings is a story I’m working on (and am probably going to end up having as another serial story on my blog), but I’m struggling with the first little bit. Is it engaging? What do you think of it? Where do you anticipate the story going? How do you feel about the characters?
Critique as brutally (*cough* Dark chocolate *cough*) a…[Read more]

@libby One more and then I think I’m actually done. XD Are everyday titles (i.e. non-familial titles) attached when speaking in third-person as well as first-person?

Hey people!!! I finished my first chapter of Lioness (YA, futuristic speculative fiction), and I’d LOVE it if y’all could read and critique it for me!!! It’s about 2000 words long. And please please please don’t hold back on critiquing–I’m trying to become a better writer so I absolutely need to know what has to change. (
And besides, I can…[Read more] -

@libby Terms of endearment! Those are another thing I asked about when my post didn’t work. Are Japanese terms of endearment standalone like the English “sweetheart”? Or do they attach to names?

@libby I had a whole response to this latest post shortly after you posted it and I just came back to find that the whole thing vanished. *headdesks* (And it’s still giving me issues now. Urg.)
First off, thank you again for all the information! It’s super helpful, and really interesting to learn about the different ways the language works.…[Read more]

@libby I really only dabbled in the ocarina. My dad had one, along with a book of LotR songs for ocarina, so I played around with it for a little bit and then got distracted and haven’t really touched it since… I’m really bad with sticking to instruments. XD
@joy-caroline Everything? XD I actually have a lot of fun singing in a variety of…[Read more]

@libby haha! Absolutely.
I sing Contralto! That’s so cool!
I love old folk songs from like the 30’s and stuff. But I also love traditional Irish and Chinese music, so I guess a bit of everything from everywhere XD I’m not a huge fan of anything super loud or “crazy” though. I’ve also never been able to get into rap much, to my cousin’s dismay XD

Hi Libby!
I am SUPER excited to be here! I would love to answer all of your wonderful questions!
I am hoping to have writing as a side career. I would love to be a librarian who writes, lol. I want to be published one day, but unless I end up being a stay at home mom (which I would not mind at all) then writing would become my career.…[Read more]

@abigail-m, wonderful, thank you!
@libby, cool, I just wanted to know that you were someone who read in the genre. XDD I’ve had people (mostly on other forums) give me feedback for a genre they don’t even read. It was kinda odd. XD
And I get you about the horror. I don’t read a ton of it (However, I do recommend The Night Gardener by J…[Read more]

@libby Ooh, that’s all very well-put. (And you’re welcome to continue. I only meant to personally step back. Although… I sometimes struggle to refrain from interjecting after I’ve told myself to step back, so I might return later. XD)
That’s all right! I won’t be tweaking the names until my next draft, anyway, so I’ll need it soon-ish but not…[Read more]

@joy-caroline Just because He knocks on every door regardless doesn’t mean He hasn’t already determined whether or not they’ll hear. He knocked on the door of Pharoah’s heart repeatedly and harshly (He did signs and wonders so that Pharoah would know He is LORD), and He still closed Pharoah’s heart to such reception “that His glory might be known”…[Read more]
