Libby replied to the topic Does anyone write rap lyrics/rap music? in the forum Music 2 years, 9 months ago
@overcomer Hey, Mallory! First off, it’s nice to meet you. You have a lovely profile picture 🙂 Second, I’ve done a bit of rap-writing/spoken word before, though I haven’t written one for… years, I guess. And I love listening to certain artists who use rap (I’m a bit partial to spoken word in particular).
What do you like to rap about?

Libby replied to the topic What's something you wish you knew when you first started writing? in the forum Topic of the Week 3 years ago
I wish I’d realized the importance of outside feedback… how saving my pride isn’t worthwhile in the end if I care about growing as a writer.

Libby replied to the topic Have you ever considered quitting writing? Why or why not? in the forum Topic of the Week 3 years ago
*sighs* Yes, I have. Or rather, writing is something I’ve always wanted to do… it’s the type of writing I do that I’ve doubted. And whether or not I ought to pursue writing as a career. But writing is a part of who I am. And whether I write in my journals or on my blog or get published and become famous, I think I’ll always write.

Libby replied to the topic Why do you write? in the forum Topic of the Week 3 years, 1 month ago
I write because I realize God’s given me a desire and a gift… and I don’t want to waste it. I want to steward it well for his kingdom.
I write because I have been touched by the truth in powerful ways from non-fiction and fiction authors alike – Tolkien, Austen, Piper, Ferguson, Washer, MacArthur, etc. Somehow, some way, God has used the w…[Read more]

Aww, thank you so much. That is so encouraging to hear <3
I checked out both of your articles, and what you shared is super helpful. I’d never thought much before of the Pinterest idea, but I’ll definitely be trying to take that up… have a bit of work to do first, though, cleaning up my boards 😉
Thank again, Ariel!

@e-p-writes There’s so much commentary here I’ll keep this short, but welcome to the kingdom 🙂 We’re so glad you’re here! (Also, the color blue is beautiful in all its shades, I agree).
@kathleenramm I’ve been meaning to tell you for a bit, but I read The Hunger Games and all books in the series this summer based on your suggestion… and they…[Read more]

Hello, friends and potential friend 🙂 It’s been a while since I’ve been on here, and if there’s been a post I never responded to, please forgive me. I’m hoping to be on here more during the school year.
So, I have a blog. I just set it up a week or so ago, and posted for the first time yesterday. But this is all incredibly new to me and I’…[Read more]

Libby replied to the topic What's a Genre or form of writing you used to dislike, but now enjoy? in the forum Topic of the Week 3 years, 2 months ago
Sorry I’ve been so terrible at being on the forum!
@kathleenramm The premise of my story is a little shaky right now, but it’s about a boy who gets thrown back in time (from the future to now) and who has to find his way home (at the most basic level).
@devastate-lasting I wish I had tips to give you… I’m just a baby sci-fi writer myself. …[Read more]

I used to hate sci-fi… and now the novel I’m most passionate about is time-travel/sci-fi. I honestly can’t say what changed ‘_’/

Libby replied to the topic How do you develop your story ideas? in the forum General Writing Discussions 3 years, 9 months ago
Most of my story ideas come from dreams that I have… super bizarre, but generally I daydream about them and add and add to the story until I realize, hey, this would actually make a pretty intriguing book. Usually, I’d start writing without any planning… so I have a lot of unfinished first drafts :'(
Recently, my process has…[Read more]

@r-m-archer Yeahhh, I hope that doesn’t mess with things too much 😐
A letter addressed to someone in their full name would look like this: “Powell, Libby – sama”. Last name, first name, then the extra formal “sama” is usually used as a suffix in letters.
Yes, sorry about that : ) Most terms of endearment are stand-alone. Adding “chan” is t…[Read more]

@r-m-archer Thank you so much for your patience! Let me see if I can answer your questions.
For sibling names, the titles are just used without any suffixes or other names. So, I would call my older sister not by her Christian name, but by “Ane” which literally means “older sister” – and the same would go for younger sister and brother, an…[Read more]
