Yes, MCs are hard! When it comes to pinpointing flaws, I always have the most trouble with them. 😛
I’m so glad you think so!
Yes, that is a great example of his impulsiveness! 🙂I know!!! I want to hug him, too, honestly… XD I’m so glad you like him! 😀

I know, right? I hated revising at first, but now it’s a lot harder to move into a new book instead of constantly polishing what I already have.
Also, I totally get the thing about the scariness of caring about publication. I have a feeling Yanet part of what may be holding me back at the moment, so maybe I should just enjoy w…[Read more]

I’m actually struggling quite a bit right now, though I definitely don’t want to give up. I’m sorta having trouble reigniting my passion for free-writing after a very long editing sesh on my first book. I want to rewrite my second one, and I’m getting stuck even in the outline — I just want it to be so good. I know it could be…[Read more]

You should totally do it! It takes a lot of work, but it’s really cool when you start to see your scenes and characters come to life on screen, moving! I actually have done a bit of animation and storyboarding for an anime op for my book, actually. I’ll see if I can link it here:
Um — so I figured out it wasn’t working. However…[Read more]

Trahia the Minstrel replied to the topic Which story was the quickest to write and which was the slowest? in the forum Topic of the Week 4 years, 5 months ago
Yes! Shadow Throne is my favourite, too, I think! Jaron’s tactics in it are just so good, and the ending was just so satisfying, and there were times where I wasn’t sure how he was gonna get out of those situations, but he did. And I really wanted him to be with Imogen at the end somehow, and he was — although I kinda could…[Read more]

I love the Boiling Rock episodes! They’re some of my favourite — the bromance between Zuko and Sokka is just so good!😁
Just an idea, feel free to toss it away — what if when Zyla escapes she’s crying after this argument with Kedja, and as she gets to the perimeter, she hears Kedja’s screams? This could be a way to hit home…[Read more]

I think my shortest time to write a novel was the first novel I ever wrote, a fan fic which I’m pretty sure took me under a year.
My longest has been my current project The Prince of WalfKlau (working title), in which it took me roughly 2 years to write the first and second book, back to back, another whole year to revise the e…[Read more]

I really enjoy the Royal Tutor series. It’s kinda an alternate history manga series in which the kingdom, Granzireich, is based on the Austro-Hungarian empire, somewhere in the 1800’s. It’s about how Heine, the new Royal Tutor, has to teach the four youngest princes to be candidates to the throne. It’s a really fun series and one…[Read more]

I agree with what @elfwing said about respecting the government, but always putting God’s commands first. As far as I understand it (which admittedly may not be much) we are to obey and respect our leaders, but we are not to obey anything which goes against the Bible or what God decrees. Think about the early Christians — they res…[Read more]

God question! I haven’t finished anything yet but here’s what I didn’t finish:
Shortest: a sci-fi WIP that I got more than 20K in in only a few months, but I never needed up finishing cuz I had no plot LOL
Longest: my current WIP. The idea for it came in April/May of this year and I spent a lot of time just brainstorming and right now I’m only…[Read more]

You watch Assassination Classroom? Lol. My brother’s super into that. He says it’s quite inappropriate in humour, though, so I haven’t watched it yet. The next one I’m thinking of watching is Dr. Stone. You ever read or watched that one?
Also, I meant to ask, what’s the content like in Code Geass and Steins;Gate?

@not-so-secret-secret-assassin
I understand how you feel about the first book in terms of its plot, but I have to say I always found it quite funny. The three introductions made me laugh out loud, just his whole whimsical writing style in general, and his deliberate use of redundancy. (Gnag the Nameless, the Dark Sea of Darkness, etc)
I also…[Read more]

Trahia the Minstrel replied to the topic Any Urban Fantasy clean book recommendations? in the forum Book Discussions 4 years, 5 months ago
I’m not sure if this counts, but The Keeper of the Lost Cities series has some modern stuff tied in, because the main character was raised in our world. Even if it doesn’t count, it’s one of the best fantasies I’ve read since Harry Potter and Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive.
(It probably doesn’t count. But it’s a great series and I’…[Read more]

Yes, Violet Evergarden is amazing! It goes quite deep into war trauma and what it would be like if the only thing you’d ever known was the military, and how to learn how to be a feeling, caring human again after only thinking you were a tool. It’s heartbreaking. Made me cry in several places. Has a great sou…[Read more]
