Hello Annika! My name is Jodi, and I write fantasy, historical fiction, and a few other things. I also love books about hobbits, as well as other fantasy stories. I loved the Redwall series by Brian Jacques when I was younger.
What place would you go to in any story, if you could?
So nice to meet you! Welcome to Kingdom Pen 🙂

1. I assume if you opened this topic, you were curious about the title. (That’s alright, I guess I would be too).
2. I am writing a short story, (that’s stretching beyond eight thousand words right now, so by the time I come to the conclusion, it’ll be more of a novella). The story is a spin-off of my main novel. Same characters, world, and…[Read more] -

Hullo and welcome!
You like to draw? Cool. I love to paint, but sketching kind of intimidates me. What kinds of things do you draw? And if I may ask, where’d you get the idea for your ping name?

Hullo!
I am also quite a fan of fantasy and medieval books. Have you ever read the Ranger’s Apprentice by John Flanagan by chance? It’s defiantly top tier and fits the book description you were addressing.
Happy you’re here!

@gracie-j thanks for the tag!
@e-k-seaver I’d love to read it but I’m a little swamped right now with work, so I don’t think I’d be able to give your book the attention it deserves at the moment. I wish you the best with your revisions, though! 🙂

Girl, I just SOOO feel ya!!!! I literally just got out of a major writing slump that I’d been in for all of June. Like writing literally blegh for me too and everything!!!!
So I guess, every writer is going to be different. For some people pushing through is what helps them. This use to help me, but well, it didn’t help this last…[Read more]

Oooo this is SUCH a fun idea!!!! I LOVE IT!!!! And I LOVE Dylan’s dialogue. The first one was just kinda funny without the story’s context. XD It was awesome!!!!!
So my MC is a sixteen-year-old girl named Layla. I just started this new story, so I don’t know a lot about her yet, but from what I can tell she’s stubborn, competitive, and…[Read more]

@nova21 I like this idea.
My MC ain’t the most exiting character, but here are her first out of context lines.
“Isn’t there a meet today?”
*action of eye rolling* “you’re a terrible liar.”
“No, please. You know I don’t like those.”
Lol it sounds so strange out of context considering her character in the book.
Omgoodness…[Read more]

Heyyyy!!! Writing’s been going pretty good. I started a new novel and have been loving it probably more than anything I’ve ever written. Life’s been mostly crazy, but I’ve been hanging in there. Oooo Skyward Sword sounds fun!! What is it exactly?

If you want reading suggestions, I know plenty of good books. Into whimsical humor? Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Historical growth and women’s rights? Little Women. (I don’t really know what you’re interested in other than fiction and historical, so forgive any blubbering on my part.)
Maybe you’d like Crown of Feathers by Nicki…[Read more]

Maybe during the course of the series there could be a goal he’s striving to achieve. I know it’s getting home, but will the getting home stretch over the whole thing, or just one book? If it’s a single book, then maybe give him a larger goal, like to find the meaning of what it’s like to know you’re loved, but make it a development that…[Read more]

All of the above sounds great actually! I’d love to know more about any hobbies of yours. Posts about how you work your way out of writing ruts/plot holes/lack of inspiration are always helpful to me. Also you could write about things you have opinions on, like writing with/without music, movies and books you like, that kind of thing 🙂
