The title says it all, folks. I just thought it might be fun to compare what your character says to see if the dialogue truly matches their personality or not.
So I’ll share mine first!
MC is Dylan, who is stubborn, quiet, and strong-willed. A little self-protective. Lmk if his dialogue fits his personality.
1) “Better.” (*rolls eyes* It makes sense in the story, guys!)
2) “It won’t happen again.”
3) “What are you doing here?”
Not super interesting, but the story is, lol! So ya, that’s it y’all! Excited to see what y’all come up with!!! <33

-gladiator, 2000Ooh, interesting! I think that dialogue fits super well for Dylan, especially since the lines are short. That goes well with his strong-willed personality, in my opinion! As for mine… they’re kinda short, so… XD
MC is Felicity, who is (also) strong-willed, stubborn, and tough, though she’s secretly quite caring.
1) “Huh.” (I know, it’s boring *shrugs*)
2) “Hey! That’s mine!”
3) “This ends here.”
Probably doesn’t make a lot of sense, but *shrugs* oh well. Can’t wait to see everybody else’s! <3

This is for Nan Jinqi, who’s, um, what is he like… He’s quiet and dependable, I think. Quite observant. Hard-working. I don’t know that much about him yet.
1) “Run!”
2) “It was your stupid machine that crashed and burned, [action tag omitted], And who said I was here to stop you?”
3) “As long as these people can escape safely…my mission will be accomplished.”

My character is kinda bubbly and sarcastic/teasing, so Ladies, here’s Catherine XD:
“It’s the perfect gift for your girlfriend, don’t ya think?”
“How many children will I be the aunt of? Six? Seven?”
“Oh! What if you have all girls! Your home will be amazing. Make sure you invite me over a lot.”
"It's easy to be caught up in stardust and whispers when reality is so dark and loud."

Here’s mine for Horace, one of my MCs who is a magic-lawyer on good days and a control freak on bad ones. 😛
1) “Enjoying the view?”
2) “I’m sure.” [action tag] “Something on your mind?”
3) “My apologies then,” [action tag] “You just seem rather—“
Yeah. Dealing with his moody teenaged companion means he gets interrupted a lot. XD
“Seven seconds till the end. Time enough for you. Perhaps. But what will you do with it?”
haha!! Great idea!! And I’d say your MCs dialogue fits.
My sci fi book MC is shy in big groups but stubborn and has her opinions and likes to bug her brother
her first three lines in the story:
(Omits action) Alden, stop it! I got in here five minutes ago!” (Can you guess where she is? Lol)
(Omits action) “Good morning. I didn’t burn the house down so that’s encouraging.”
(Omits action) “Can I go with you to town today?”

Anyway, y’all let me know what y’all think of Keaton. He’s quiet, intelligent, no-nonsense, pretty gruff sometimes…but I never feel like his dialogue comes off right.

“He did well.”
“He’s executed.”

First of all… I LOVE the name Keaton! second, his dialogue seems to fit. I suppose just keep his lines short, don’t have him using too many please n’ thank you’s and keep him to the point XD

I totally understand what you mean; I do that so often, which is why it’s lovely to have several very different people in my book so one can ramble, one play devil’s advocate, and the other one, who’s the quiet rough one, can end any stupidity happening in the disagreement. XD

The first three things Torrent Starcatcher says….She’s been secluded and indifferent ever since her parents were taken, and she is becoming increasingly annoyed with her caretaker, Marek Diamond.
“What’s up?”
(after Diamond explains that there’s something weird in the cavern, and that’s what’s up) “What’s going on with the cavern?”
(after he says he has to find out what’s in there) “It’s forbidden.”
Where'd I get ya this time? The liver? The kidney? I'm runnin' outta places to put holes in ya.
