@joy-caroline this is right up my alley, girl! I LOVE parallel characters with different arcs!!!!!!! ❤ Keziah sounds AH-MAZE-ING! I just *internally squeals* love her already.
Like @godlyfantasy12 said, I mentioned some things corresponding to this on her “Making my antagonist likeable/believable” topic. To echo that, I’ll just cut and pas…[Read more]

@joy-caroline As someone who generally likes antagonistic characters I like her a lot already! Kind of reminds me of Caleb Trask, one of my favorite characters in all of literature, who is supposed to symbolize Cain. I think as long as you portray all of your above ramble clearly, then you should have no problem getting your readers to like her!…[Read more]

Hey @akbaer ! Sorry I’m late… Welcome to KP! I am Ella and I love writing dystopian fiction, drinking tea, playing sports, and drawing flowers. And I have an irrational fear of falling into the murky river near our house. *cough* *smiles, wondering if we can still be besties* XD
Excuse me if these questions have already been asked, bu…[Read more]

@godlyfantasy12 I don’t really have much to say, but I have a couple of movies to suggest for @gracie-j .
1) Knives Out. It’s a murder mystery that came out recently, I’d give it a strong PG-13 for language and stuff, but I really enjoyed watching it.
2)Â Batman Begins. Mm yes this one doesn’t have that much of a transition but it’s pretty g…[Read more]

@kathleenramm I’ve read other Star Wars books; mainly movie adaptions. There’s this one adaption of The Attack of the Clones that I really liked as a kid.

Ooo, that sounds really cool. The vibe sounds like something I’d definitely be into.
Did you have any favorite characters in the book?
Animal behaviour books? Is there a reason, or do you just like to learn about animals? I’m intrigued haha. XD
Oof. Yeah, pretty much every story hinges on the characters. If I don’t…[Read more]

There are some surprisingly good Star Wars books out there. Like better than the movies good.
A negative character arc? Man, I now have to order it from the library now. XD
Have you read any other Star Wars books or was Lost Stars your first?
My brother has been telling me to read Children of Hurin and the Silmarill…[Read more]

This guy sounds fascinating! His backstory is awesome, and he sounds like a genuine character. For likeability, you could:
1)Â Give the MC and Ridley something in common (a hobby, a genre of music, a favorite food, etc)
2) like @elfwing said, moments of vulnerability. That would make the reader open up to him really fast…[Read more]

@kathleenramm I know you said most recent, but looking at my books, I’m going to go with the third most recent book I read, Lost Stars by Claudia Gray.
It’s a Star Wars book I bought ages ago but never got around to. Glad I finally did, though. I liked how it was slightly cleaner than most YA out there. I did not like how I failed to see that…[Read more]

What’s the most recent book you’ve finished? What did you think of it?
Just last night I finished reading The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I grew up watching the 1993 film adaptation, but have never read the book until now.And I was presently surprised! This is the most I’ve enjoyed a book in awhile. The story is sweet and simple,…[Read more]

@writerlexi1216 *stretches* Hngh…right now I’m currently serialising one of my works (finally!) and now I’m working on the backlog for something else for Crazy Writing Week… Also working on a short story but at the same time I kind of want to write something else…I don’t know what though. Oh, and Thirteen Ways, of course. For once I’m on schedule.

@precious-y I would say my villain is a central character, though right now I have the POVs of the villain, the hero, and the villain’s friend. There’s a lot more characters than I anticipated, ha… Maybe this will be longer.
Hmm….villain character development… Kingdom Pen has a lot of great articles on them! Since your characters are…[Read more]

Christian Nolan, C.S. Lewis, and J.R.R Tolkien are definitely some of my favorite as well. Whose your favorite Tolkien and C.S. Lewis character?
Computer science? Sounds cool, but intense haha. What made you decide to study it in collage?

@zatara Oh, I like beginning and ending stories. When I start a story, I almost never know where it’s going to go, except with maybe a mental image of the end, and when I end it, it feels so bittersweet, like I’m saying goodbye to a friend.

@nova21
Hi Ella! Thanks so much visiting! Glad you like it.
Aww, thanks! We have wild bunnies in our backyard and we feed them during the summer. Sometimes, if you hold really still, and squat down low, they’ll come close enough to take their picture! 🙂 Do you have any wildlife around your house?
That’s awesome! I love trying to take pics of wildlife (but it can be pretty frustrating bc most animals don’t appreciate it 😉) I live in the south so we get a lot of reptilian things… XD Snakes, lizards, even scorpions! Not as cute as bunnies, but still pretty interesting. XD In the mornings on my way to school I often see deer too. And…[Read more]
@nova21
Haha! My mom got a camera awhile back and has been trying to take pictures of our hummingbirds. Yeah, if only wildlife would cooperate!
We live out in the country, so we see snakes and lizards too. One four foot gopher snake just slithered by like nobody’s business, and weirdly, two quail were marching behind him …. why? Not sure 🤷…[Read more]
That’s so cool! That’s hilarious, quail marching behind him? LOL! I know, scorpions are just… freaky. I found a dead one in our pool and I didn’t go in for about a week! XD I don’t think I’ve been able to get a pic of deer bc it’s basically “ooo, look, a deer!” and everyone’s like “where?” then I’m like “nevermind, it’s gone.” XD I will…[Read more]
Yikes! I know, right? One time, I went to our bedroom closet, turned, and BOOM! One was sitting there on the wall! I heard a pastor refer to scorpions as sneaky. Yep. Definitely sneaky!
Haha! Yeah, it’s like that in our family. We’ll be driving along, someone sees a deer, and by then it’s gone. I hope you get that picture someday!
Cool!…[Read more]

Awesome! My favorite subject last year was geometry and this year I’m really looking forward to biology. I didn’t have a great experience in my literature class but I think this year will be great.
