Wait wait wait until you read the last book, ‘dead’ isn’t exactly right
Aurgh, that’s all I can say…

Enid replied to the topic Do your characters tend to be more extraverted or introverted? in the forum Topic of the Week 3 years, 9 months ago
My charries tend to be a mix of both.
For example, my pet RP character, Sebastian, has no problem speaking his mind, whether it be filled with genuine honesty or loud insults. But he just doesn’t like people. They give him a headache.
It’s like they aren’t afraid of socializing – they just choose not to. So they all have hints of ambivert, but…[Read more]

Yeah, the first book is definitely not the best (especially with the repetitive Fang escapades), but it had enough quirkiness that I was instantly entertained.

@esther-c Nice to meet you, Your High Wingfeathery-nes. Ah, yes, royal siblings XD
It had a different tone than the trailer, didn’t it? The pacing had Veggie Tale fingerprints all over it.

😂😭 I know. For me, it was like – asdfghjkl WHY
Why
Why…
But it also makes sense, and I sorta like it that way
Oh, I invested in the show, and my name’s in the credits! Well. Actually they put my dad’s name on accident. Buuuut IT’S THERE BECAUSE OF ME
Also nice to meet you again 😋

Enid replied to the topic Writing out of chronological order? in the forum Plotting 3 years, 9 months ago
@sarafini Well, you could either rewrite the second book, just like you did the first, or (if you’re aware that the first book needs rewriting) just keep in mind what you might change in the first. I guess it depends on the situation.
Your second book might be better written than the first by nature, so you could write it the way you want it, and…[Read more]

Oh, I looooove Lamplighter Theater, especially The White Gypsy, The Giant Killer, oh, and Sir Malcolm and the Missing Prince…
In conclusion, yes I am! Never written one, but I’ve always wanted to. I’d love to hear about your projects.
(Btw, I glance at Story Embers ever once in a while, and I think someone mentioned this topic there before.…[Read more]

I know I’m late to the party… But I’d like to give thanks too. 🙂
I’m thankful that God has kept me safe and sound – for the most part 😂 – since 2020. I moved two times and changed school groups two times, all during the pandemic and in the height of my teen years. (The emotions!)
I did not die. Sure, I lost my marbles, but I didn’t…[Read more]

@starofthenorth I agree with @koshka in putting the emphasis on the characters themselves, instead of generally ‘boys’ and ‘girls.’ (Unless there’s a specific reason to.)
By the way, I have a character named Christopher who, in a particularly emotional moment, says ‘I guess the feeling is mutual.’ Are you spying on my brain, or is it just me? 😶 -

Enid replied to the topic Putting Yourself in your Characters? in the forum Characters 3 years, 9 months ago
Ah, yes. The way us writer stuff our insecurities into an unfortunate child, who just happens to be imaginary, and throw them off a cliff…
*ahem*
I guess for me, I create the character, and only afterwards do I realize how their soul and personality directly correlate with mine. Usually they are a super exaggerated form of one of my…[Read more]

I suppose I’m at great fault for not replying yet. After all, I started the topic. 🙂 Only excuse I have is that I caught a particularly rough sickness this last week, and had school to catch up on.
Despite that, I’ve enjoyed reading your entries. 😛

Whittaker
Wextoriae Manual of the World… Rule one… page… o-one…
The boy – Whittaker – cradled his forehead in his hands. It was hard to breathe without gagging. The light blinded him.
He opened his eyes again and again. Surely someone would see him then – the light might reflect off his soul. Everyone said the eyes were windows to the…[Read more]
