Actually… now that I think about it… It could be argued the other way as well. That Christian authors do the same thing, just more subtly (hopefully). Oooh, now I’m going to be thinking about this for a while. XD How are we any different from secular authors pushing their agendas? Because I’m sure they can do it without be preachy…

I think the stories that have impacted me the most are the ones where I get to see the characters struggling with matters of faith and learning how to deal with tough questions, because I learn alongside the character rather than being preached at by the character. I, for one, love a good Christian story that leaves me inspired to…

1, does it draw you in and make you want to read more?
It certainly does for me! There’s suspense concerning the potential arrest of people, and the growing excitement of a war possibly coming.
And 2, does it sound historically accurate to you?
Most of it does. I did note that some of the speech wouldn’t have been used back then.…[Read more]

@trailblazer I don’t know much about this time period, but I really enjoyed it so far! It does draw you in.
I feel like it’s hard to have character development within one chapter, but I’d be interested to see where this goes! Please tag me if you post more ! 😉

Hello! I’d love to give feedback! 🥰
1, does it draw you in and make you want to read more?
I drawn in by the character relationships! Knowing this is the first draft, I think it could be better if we jumped into the relationships before the historical events. I’ve read some classic his-fics (Johnny Tremain, five out of five stars),…[Read more]

Awesome!! IEW has helped me so much, too! I probably wouldn’t know how to write well unless I’d gone through IEW for many years. I also have learned all my grammar from their Fix It! course.

I was really excited to see the movie, so my Mother used it for my school! I do IEW (if you’v ever heard of it). Well, for my writing papers, I researched and studied all about Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, his wife, and his sons. I especially loved researching about Charles Longfellow.

Your name is lovely, too!
I guess I would say my favorite historical period is the early 18oo’s! But it has to take place on a ship in the ocean. Yup! I’v loves that era, (the early 18′ navy) ever since my family watch the series Hornblower.
But, for writing, my favorite period is probably the 1700’s. The Revolutionary War! My…[Read more]

Oh my gosh I’m so sorry I forgot all about this!!!
I mean, it seems like you’re dealing with drama no matter which option you choose (maybe I’m wrong about that?).
yeah pretty much…sadly…
There are a lot of really good curriculums out there, and in my experience, my education as a homeschooler was better than what I got in my one…

“Marcurious!” Ottoline smacked his arm, giving him a warning glare.
“What?” Marcurious shrugged.

Amir let out a nervous chuckle, his voice somehow cracking in the process. He cleared his throat and tried to stop tapping his finger against his leg. “Um, that’s j-just what w-we, uh, do.”
Marcurious still didn’t look convinced.

“Am I supposed to call you Rohan, or Amir?” Marcurious raised an eyebrow. “For goodness sake, why on Andromeda do people have two names?” Ottoline elbowed him and glared.
“It’s a serious question!” he whined.

Amir
Amir closed his gaping mouth and finally swallowed. He still didn’t understand who this guy was. Although he wore mostly black, he had no yellow sash, so that was a good sign. And he seemed to be carrying no weapons—that was always a nice indication if someone was friendly or not.
“I-I am Amir. R-roh…[Read more]

IS THIS A CURSE?? lol jk
Huh, I haven’t noticed anything. 🤔 but then again I’m pretty sure we have add blockers set up, so that might be blocking them on my end 🤷♀️
YESSSS! @grcr I had to exit and then get back on just to be able to type in my username! I’ve never had this happen before! So weird!
Should we tag Kathleen, or wait to see if it will disappear?
Hmm, I don’t know…
Yeah!! It’s soo weird…
I guess I’m just gonna have to stay logged in to avoid them at this point… 😒 *sighs*
I never intentionally log out, but for some reason, on my phone, it usually logs me out frequently. And now I can’t log back in because there are ADS on top of the login box!
Oh no! 😬 that’s really bad!!! These ads are seriously bothersome…
(Eh, sorry I didn’t respond to you sooner 😓)
Oh, no problem! 🙂
Yeah, they’re really annoying. When did you notice them? I didn’t until I tried to reply here and couldn’t because they were blocking me from signing in.
When did I noticed them… ehh, I think I saw them yesterday or early this morning… definitely early today, but I have a faint memory of seeing them (for about a minute) yesterday…
I was signed out and doing some spying when I noticed them… it’s hard to spy when the page it covered lol
Oh, I see… hmm…. 🤔
YES ugh, now I get ads if I’m not logged in!!
On my phone, I literally cannot log in because there is an add ON TOP OF the login box. What IS this?
*ad
YES this is happening to me too! I believe there used to be ads on KP, but I haven’t seen them the whole time I’ve been a member. And now they randomly popped up!!! I posted about it and tagged Kathleen so she’s aware, but she hasn’t responded yet. So I guess we’ll see.
And they aren’t even in convenient places. Like, they get really annoying if you’re not logged in. :/
Oh there used to be? That’s interesting. Hopefully Kathleen sees soon… 😐
Yeah, they are all over the place! Like, if they’re going to be there for any long amount of time, at least be on the sides of the page or something more organized… lol
yeah, I think so. I remember seeing a post someone made a long time ago about ads or something. I bet if you searched it you could find it.
For real… XD
Hm. I might actually go look….
XD XD
I’m not having any problems with ads… but maybe the issue was resolved by now?
Hmm… it’s still there for me (when I’m logged out) so… i don’t know… 😒
