I see. Sounds like some complicated research you’ve got going there. 😛
All right, Prince of Egypt is on my list! 🙂
Farewell, and happy writing/researching! 😉

How accurate is Prince of Egypt, storywise? 😉
It is a very silly musical. 😛 About as silly as a musical could be, I imagine. But I really like the costume design, because they don’t dress the characters in animal costumes. They dress them in costumes which evoke the colors and textures and personality of the animal character i…[Read more]

@valtmy Well, getting distracted by a political satire romantic comedy idea honestly sounds really fun. 😛

I’ve heard a couple of songs from The Prince of Egypt and liked them, but I haven’t ever looked into it beyond that. I think that I shall plan on doing so, one of these days. 🙂
Did you ever get a chance to listen to those songs from Only the Brave? I keep wishing I could hear the rest of the soundtrack, rather than just the thr…[Read more]

@seekjustice Haha, yeah. That’s pretty much how it went. 😛
Now I have to ask, have you discovered any new musicals? Or, what have you been listening to lately? (And has it influenced your writing at all?)

@seekjustice He does sound fascinating.
Well, I had a really cool idea…at least, one I thought was really cool…of making the gang of Bathshua’s brother’s friends Jewish Zealots. And so I did some research into that group and it was very interesting. So, now the gang is a Zealot gang. 😛 We’ll see how that goes. Hopefully it works. I feel…[Read more]

@seekjustice I’ve missed you too!
Wow, a planned romance, huh? 😛 Well, the romances in your previous books have been the subject of so much discussion here, I’ve a feeling the new one is going to be a hit as well. 😉
And a pirate/botanist? That sounds really interesting. I never considered those two professions/hobbies going to…[Read more]

@seekjustice Hey there!
I can’t stay for long, but…how’s it going?
Also, what’s your newest book about?

@merieshenanigans My retelling is of Beauty and the Beast! It’s contemporary fantasy, and I am actually handwriting it this time because that helps me get things done instead of stressing about what I’ve already written. So even though I still write slow, what I write stays there instead of getting deleted, lol.
Yes, being a TCK is always c…[Read more]

@merieshenanigans ä½ å¥½! I’m Grace and welcome to the forum! I also enjoy fantasy, and my current WIP is a fairytale retelling 🙂
Your soon-to-be-named WIP sounds really cool. Can you tell me more of what it’s about?
Also I’m curious why you feel like you’re not an actual TCK… because I think it means different things for different people. Lik…[Read more]

Hey there! It’s been forever!
I miss chatting with you all. I see that none of us have been around for a little while, sadly. I hope everyone’s doing well.
I’m going to see if I can appear here once in a while. I have been neglecting writing lately, but I do want to get back to a somewhat regular pac…[Read more]

@leon-fleming This sounds like a great idea!
You’ve been tagging me in a lot of poetry-related things, haha… but I’m not sure I would consider myself a poet, except perhaps in the long-rambly free verse genre.
I think for this thread, I would caution that we check our hearts before writing, so that we’re genuinely glorifying God and not trying…[Read more]

Grace H. replied to the topic TOTW – What is a story cliche that you like? in the forum Start HERE 4 years, 8 months ago
@kathleenramm Yeah, I see what you mean about the incompetent hero being relatable. I think every person is fundamentally insecure about something, so having that played out in a book usually strikes a chord.
I like the forbidden love type (Romeo and Juliet, the song Rewrite the Stars, etc). I don’t know why exactly. It’s usually very feel-sy…[Read more]

@leon-fleming Yeah, after seeing a little bit about your WIPs I figured it was related to Tolkien somewhat. That’s amazing how you discovered a lot of existing things on your own!
Yeah, and people even recommend that speech therapists even study linguistics alongside to help inform the work that they do.
@katherine-h Wow, that’s great! Welcome…[Read more]

@devastate-lasting Yeah, finding time is always hard. Are you currently in high school?
@leon-fleming Aww yeah, that sucks. Sorry about that!
Also, to the best of my knowledge, I don’t believe I play the kazoo.
