SeekJustice replied to the topic Well…hello… in the forum Start HERE 1 year, 7 months ago
Hey! Lovely to meet you 😊
I’m learning quite a few languages! I’ve finished a course and I’m conversational in Hawaiian, I’m proficient in Australian Sign Language and I’m currently learning Scottish Gaelic and Romanian. In the future I’d love to learn Welsh and Māori. And no I haven’t done any of my own languages! I usually use real languages…[Read more]

Hello! I’m definitely not new here (a veteran, lol), but it’s been quite a while since I’ve been active. I’ve decided to drag my butt back here and get some accountability to finish off my current projects!
A little bit about me, I’m almost 23 (which I feel makes me basically ancient on here) and I live in Rural Australia. I’m a dog trainer and…[Read more]

Hello! It’s been a while hasn’t it! I couldn’t even remember my log in details!
I also haven’t written anything in ages and I’m desperate to get back into it. Hopefully I’ll be more active on here again.

SeekJustice replied to the topic Harry Potter? in the forum Book Discussions 2 years, 3 months ago
I wasn’t allowed to read them until I was in my mid teens, because my mum felt the last few books were too adult for me as a kid. I liked them, but honestly don’t feel any connection to them. I feel there are a lot of better series, personally I prefer Percy Jackson and Rick Riordan’s other works!
I’m a Ravenclaw 😀

Sounds like a fascinating story idea! I just don’t know that you can fit all that in one short story!

SeekJustice replied to the topic Merch much? in the forum Topic of the Week 2 years, 3 months ago
I’m a bit late to the party, but if I buy merch its always a hoodie, mug or notebook! Love the minimalist look, with maybe a sketch and a quote, or something like that.
I won’t be able to buy any merch, because shipping to over here is wildly expensive, so I’m sad about that. Good luck with it though!

SeekJustice replied to the topic Putting a Character where you live? XD in the forum Characters 2 years, 3 months ago
Only one! A dystopian novel I wrote is set in a futeristic version of the town where I live. I mean I really kind of destroyed my hometown and it was really quite fun.

I’m looking for blogging buddies! I recently rebooted my blog after a couple of years of really spotty posting due to…you know *gestures vaguely at the world*
But sadly it seems like most of my original blogger friends have grown up and got real adult lives (unlike me) and don’t blog anymore. Who’s out here running a blog? I’d love to get in to…[Read more]

Jenna Terese replied to the topic So….does anyone else have any advice on how to jump my book sales? in the forum Questions and Support 2 years, 4 months ago
@wilder-w So exciting! Here are some of the most important things in my opinion for promoting your book: 1) a website, 2) a newsletter/email list, 3) social media.
Think of your website as your “home base.” This is where you want to direct more traffic to, because there people will learn more about your book/whatever you’re selling, how to buy it…[Read more]

Jenna Terese replied to the topic How to make a side character more interesting? in the forum Characters 2 years, 4 months ago
@joy-caroline Something I try to remember when I’m working on side characters is that they are the main character of their own story. Even if they don’t have a POV in the story, they will have their own values, goals, motives, etc. in the story. I love working on their backstory, because it’s usually then that I discover their internal conflict…[Read more]

Jenna Terese replied to the topic How do you draft/write the "first" document? in the forum General Writing Discussions 2 years, 7 months ago
I used to totally pants my first drafts. Now I find it more helpful to make a plot outline and scene outlines before I get writing, but I still give myself the freedom to deviate from that outline if I feel like it. That’s just me though. 🙂

SeekJustice replied to the topic Have you ever considered writing under a pseudonym, and why or why not? in the forum Topic of the Week 2 years, 9 months ago
I started entering competitions and submitting work to magazines/anthologies when I was about 13 I think? I’m pretty sure I was first published at 14, and then had several other publications after that.

@faith-q You need to write at least one short story under Vierra F. Spring, and no one will understand except that one person who laughed at you.

SeekJustice replied to the topic Have you ever considered writing under a pseudonym, and why or why not? in the forum Topic of the Week 2 years, 9 months ago
I was seriously considering using a pseudonym for several years, but I decided against it for a couple of reasons. One being that I started getting published when I was quite young, so my real name was already out there. I’ve won competitions under Chelsea Hindle, been published in magazines, and obviously did my internship here with that name, my…[Read more]

SeekJustice replied to the topic Which story was the quickest to write and which was the slowest? in the forum Topic of the Week 2 years, 11 months ago
All I can say is…wow.
That is…quite a lot of words.
The quickest I ever wrote a full length novel was in Camp NaNoWriMo one year, 2018 i think, when I finished my 90k novel in three weeks. I have never done that again 😛 I think the longest I’ve been actively working on a project is about eighteen months,…[Read more]
