I’m also non-denominational. My church used to be considered a Mennonite church but back in the 80s or 90s the leadership decided to split off because of disagreements of theology. My dad said one time a visitor described our church as “Menno-matic”, lol, a mixture of Mennonite and charismatic.

Yes, the youth pastor is the pastor overseeing the youth. My church is larger, so we do have a youth group (the middle-school age students meet Monday nights; the high school students meet Wednesday nights). @trailblazer Good! I always encourage researching, especially when it comes to the Bible. There are sooo many false teachers out there, so it’s always good to do your own research, read lots of Bible, and pray a lot ❤️

It was just one source, but I’m going to do some more research to see if there’s validity to it. Johnny Enlow brought it up in the midst of a discussion on the ElijahStreams show. He doesn’t usually just share things like that unless he’s done a good amount of research, but I still want to look into it more myself.

I also think we should be very careful to not put God in a box. He knows way more than we do…he can do so much more than we can ever do. We may be created in his image, but we are NOT God.
What seems impossible, silly, or even insane to us could be the exact thing God uses for his own glory.

I’ve recently heard about how King James put his name in the Bible by naming the book of James when the guy who actually wrote it was named Jacob, among other alterations.
Something like that can also be lost in translation.

I definitely agree with Whaley on this one. If you believe scripture is God breathed…if you believe that God is truth, then you either believe that it is ALL truth and not just the parts you want to believe or you deny it entirely.

I think I agree more with Whaley- I’m not questioning that what is in the Bible isn’t true or wasn’t inspired by God. Yes, that sounds very difficult/frustrating😅 It’s also very difficult because many WW2 German military records have been destroyed, given that Germany was practically in rubbles by the time the war finally ended.

It is interesting tho (and many Americans are, but you know XD) that both of us are descended from Germans.
My grandfather (Dad’s side) has something that talks about how his family on his mom’s side came to the USA from Germany in the 1700s before the USA was even founded!
