The book. I don’t think I knew there was a play, although that makes sense. I knew it was a musical and movie, among other things, so of course there would be a play somewhere in there. XD I actually watched the Emmy Rossum movie long before I read the book. (They’re very different, and each quite enjoyable in their own way.)

This. I didn’t grow up on classics, but I grew up to develop a more “old-fashioned” worldview and I feel like I fit better with classic authors and their literature than with most modern stories.

My answer is pretty much identical to yours! I used to largely dislike classics (or the idea of classics, anyway; I didn’t dislike as many of the classics that I read as I thought I did, lol), but in the past two or three years I’ve read more and more classics and they’ve definitely beat out modern fiction in my…[Read more]

So, perfect timing, Nadine Brandes and Sara Ella happen to be focusing on retellings in their webinar next month! There’s a $10 registration fee, but Nadine and Sara are always super helpful, they answer so many questions… Honestly, it’s worth a lot more than $10, in most cases if not all cases. XD And Nadine has written a couple of historical…[Read more]

R.M. Archer replied to the topic Who has impacted your writing the most? in the forum Topic of the Week 4 years ago
Exactly! Long, deep conversations are my favorite, but it’s often hard to find people to have them with (or specific topics for discussion, lol). God has really blessed me with the friends I can have those conversations with, whether those discussions happen often or only on occasion.

There are so many people. My mom (encouraging me to read, allowing me to pursue writing for a good chunk of my homeschooling, critiquing my work over the years, etc.), my dad (he has a book started that I’m excited to read one day, he got me started reading fantasy, he’s also helped edit my work from time to time, etc.), my writing groups…[Read more]

Autumn was my first pen name! I was going to go by Autumn Meadowlark for a while, but I picked R.M. Archer after I decided “Meadowlark” was too weird, lol. Autumn is a lovely name. ^-^

I write under a pseudonym. To begin with it was just because I thought it sounded cooler and more fantastical than my real name, lol. And initials are pretty popular among speculative fiction authors (fantasy authors in particular). But as a woman it’s nice because I won’t have to worry about deciding whether or not to change the name I write by…[Read more]

Chamomile is the best. I like to imagine being wrapped in a fluffy blanket, writing my story with a candle and the Little Women soundtrack in the background. <3 Then I am happy. :)) (Which reminds me, are you big into movies? If so, which ones?)

I’ll rephrase XD I write whenever I can, but not as consistently as I’d like. For example, over Christmas break, I wrote almost every day but as soon as school started again, I’m having trouble making time anymore. So summer is my dream time to write haha
Anywayys, I’m writing two stories when I can:

Heyyy! I’m Ella, nice to meet you!!! Lana is such a pretty name <3
Oh yes, fantasy is amazinggg. I’m going back and forth between two WIPs: Project Emiyn (em-eye-in), where Earth’s climate is failing, and people have no choice but to go to space. Emiyn was chosen to be one of the Candidates for the space exploration, but…[Read more]
