Personally for me Sanderson is pretty good. He does have some good writing advice (ie laws of sanderson). I have only read the first two stormlight books. They were good but I didn’t check the third one out. I have been reading other stuff and haven’t gotten back to them. Personally I wasn’t very impressed by the first storm…[Read more]

I just got the new illustrated version of Order of the Pheonix and ITS AMAZING. Like it’s so pretty and has all the book accuracy that the movies don’t.
Anyway due to the content I wasn’t allowed to read it till 2 years when I was 19, so they knew I was sure in my f…[Read more]

I know this thread is old, but I’m replying anyway. XD
My brother, my mom, and I have all read Harry Potter. I think we all really enjoyed them! The books were really well written. Our whole fam watched the movies and liked them too!
I have no idea what house I’d be in. Lol XD
I don’t know what else to say about the books…[Read more]

I didn’t read/ watch Harry Potter till this year but I looooveee them. I’m STILL MAD AT JK ROWLING THO for killing my favorite characters 🙁
But I love them so much. I relate to Harry and they give me hope and comfort and courage to keep fighting even in the terrible and the dark times.
Books are so much better than the…[Read more]

Sounds like a fascinating story idea! I just don’t know that you can fit all that in one short story!

@hullofellowhumans sounds like an interesting plot idea. I also enjoy a good sci-fi/dystopian story here and there. What are some of your favorites?
A couple of ideas
1) 500,000 is kinda a low population for a planet. Say, we’re talking about one as tiny as Pluto (About half the size of the US), even in this case, every person would be able to…[Read more]

Yeah, we had to scratch our original idea, which was only about the children of the prophets and had nothing to do with time traveling. The one you’re doing/did still sounds pretty fun!

Really? That’s awesome! Like ice cream with berry cobbler awesome!
What was the skit about, if I may ask? My siblings and I are doing a time traveling Children’s Church program about different kids in the bible. (We call it Purpose Kids.) I’m the mad scientist that created the Time and Space Quantum Warping Device, and we’ve…[Read more]

I don’t think I’ve ever read dystopian, but that sounds interesting.
What do you mean “doesn’t end in a successful rebellion?” (If it wouldn’t spoil it)

I think it’s most interesting! I’ve never read dystopian before, (I know, strange, right? 😉 ) But your idea definitely holds quite the potential.
I love the idea of someone surrounded by lies finding truth in God’s Word, and although I’m not sure what you mean by the rebellion being unsuccessful, it’s very intriguing. Okay,…[Read more]

Greetings! (Since I don’t think we’ve met, I’m called Elishavet around here, and I write mostly realistic medieval fantasy but also poetry, children’s church material (coauthored with siblings), and the random fanfic. I love to read a whole spectrum, however, and have been known to spend far too long with my nose in…[Read more]

Ah, black tea almost begs for cream.
It certainly is interesting, although for me it’s a lot easier than historical fiction, the genre I started out in.
Flash fiction is basically extra-short short stories, often only a few paragraphs long, like character sketches. It’s quite amusing, besides being good for writing…[Read more]

Welcome to the Kingdom of Pen! I’m Koshka, and I write historical-nonmagical-fantasy. And poetry, flash fiction, ect.
Interesting! I don’t read dystopian myself as I haven’t been able to find one that didn’t make me ill.
Now for questions:
Do you like hot tea? If so do you prefer it with cream?
What are your favorite…[Read more]
