Elishavet Elroi replied to the topic Character Castle! in the forum General Writing Discussions 2 years, 7 months ago
This looks fun…. (And I guess it’s role-play styled.)
Oh, hi! It’s good to meet you, I’m called Elishavet around here, and I mostly write fantasy, but Essays, Poetry, and Other Random Things are not unusual.
But, I’m not the one visiting this castle; it’s one of the many characters I am responsible for.
Meet Viktor…[Read more]

Elishavet Elroi replied to the topic The Beloved Character Death Discussion Page….Woohoo in the forum Characters 2 years, 7 months ago
Firstly, thank you for making this post. I don’t know how much wisdom I have to offer, since I am struggling with this same thing. Seriously, I have two characters that I am planning to kill,(one is doomed beyond hope since his death is literally the finale of his arc. The other may escape my sword. May being the operative word)…[Read more]

Beautiful. It never ceases to amaze me how a simple choice of words and rhythm can convey such various feelings. Your choice seems to give a broken hearted yet flowing stream of thought.
I would consider smoothing the rhythms or word choice so that the sentences work together a little smoother, but it is lovely as it is. Well…[Read more]

Ooof, I have the same difficulty. Or rather, a very, very similar one. I have been working on two WIPs for almost a year. No, scratch that: it’s been over a year. Anyway, these two book ideas both started from ideas for characters, with vague impressions of their plots. Now after months of quiet world building, scene crafting, and…[Read more]

Yay!
Thanks. It’s good to be back. Although, I never exactly went away, just lurked in the shadows, but no one ever saw me eavesdropping. 😉

Ugh, hi!!! I have survived five nightmarish math problems and can finally respond!!(Is she excited? Feeling euphoric? Elated? Perhaps. They were hard!)
Anyway, as for my actual response, here goes.
A fanfiction on the Overseer could be spectacular. Not ridiculous at all!

Elishavet Elroi replied to the topic Do your characters tend to be more extraverted or introverted? in the forum Topic of the Week 2 years, 7 months ago
I honestly don’t exactly know, but I think they are usually like me on that respect: they are either a weak E or a weak I. In other words, a wee bit shy, but with a love for people.
Or perhaps they are in a strange position that forces them to pretend to be VERY extroverted, like walking up to a random stranger and commenting on…[Read more]

Hi there! Yeah, I haven’t been on here much recently either.
The question thingy is so neat! I think I have submitted a question (or two, or three. They were in a list.), but it may not have gone through. Anyway, thanks for invitation!

Hmmm, fascinating! I love the extra information provided, especially since I’m a person who reads the back of covers just for the fun of it. (It might be a bit long, but that’s okay.)
Only three?! Eeekers! I’ll try. XD
- First off, this one does seem to better connect to another as a sequel. This feels more like another…

That would be fascinating, and it definitely does sound fun to do. 😉
Ugh, I’ve got quite the list of those! XD

The book you say? Hmmm. I’ll have to say I haven’t read it, (or watched it, other than a few clips of the play.) but it definitely sounds interesting! All I’ve heard about the book is that it is completely different from the play (or musical, or any of it for that matter. XD)

Certainly! They’re all good, in my own most humble opinion. (Of course they are, ’cause why would I mention them if they weren’t? XD)
Scout, Riffles for Watie by Harold Keith, and Snow Treasure, are all not exactly classics. I think RfW was written around 1957, ST around 1942, and Scout was sometime in the 50’s-60’s(Not sure). A…[Read more]

Ooo! Pitches! I love these things.
- Â You wielded your words with accuracy, letting each strike with full implications. This definitely makes me curious about the story itself.
- The whole thing is imaginative and makes the reader ask some intriguing questions: who died? What is a circus world? What is going to happen? Why are…

Oh!!!
Riffles for Watie by Harold Keith
A Little Princess by F. B. Burnett
And if these last two count:
Snow Treasure by Marie McSwigan
Scout by somebody-who-I-can’t-remember-but-it’s-a-Dutch-name.
I knew I’d forget some!

I know, right? XD As long as we stay on the path I don’t mind if we take time to smell the flowers.
I do love the descriptions. Of course after reading them, my own seem very unimaginative.
Oof. That’s a fun question!

And yes, but it’s all for their own good, right?
Wow, how awfully specific. XD That sounds interesting though.
Oh but yes! Back stories are some powerful things. The fire happens before the book too, but much of the story will be coming into those places of fear and shining the Light on them (totally acting like I didn’t just…[Read more]

Drafts? Ugh.
First, may I say that what you’re doing sounds wonderful? You are writing it out!!! Keep it up!!!
(Okay, that sounded weird. Let’s see if I can explain myself.)

Classics. I love them. In fact, most of the more modern fiction that I read is in the same vein and are often called classics. (for example, The Green Ember. 😉 )
Also, I think that having been raised on them, I am not bothered by slower paced books. (Although, if the author jumps down bunny trails that have almost no connection to…[Read more]
