Yeah… I’m a Whovian. I especially love the old stuff. Tom Baker, Jon Pertwee… *insert chef’s kiss here* I was actually just watching “Robot” with my brother last night. I feel like classic DW is both cheesy and genius at the same time. -

I had fun making that room up! I haven’t been on here for a while, so let me introduce myself. I am E. M. Trepke. If I wasn’t so busy with schoolwork all the time, I would probably add a couple characters back in.

I have not read the Squish graphic novels.
I think it’s really cool that your sci-fi is about microbiology. I myself have always been more interested the sci-fi concepts of human space exploration and colonization, so that is what I’m writing about. Ever since the “big” franchises of sci-fi came out, most of what people call sc…[Read more]

I have read about the first half of the Silmarillion, and then had to stop to read books for school. I plan on reading it all through to the end soon.
I do really like the Last Battle after, well, the last battle happens. One phrase I remember always is: “Further up and further in.” It’s a little sad about Susan…[Read more]

Have any books influenced my WIP? Short answer: yes.
Now for the long answer. I am still in the worldbuilding stage of my WIP (currently writing a collection of legends and history), but it is starting to seem that most fantasy books I have read are now inspiring it. I gain inspiration from history, mythology, obscure books, my subconscious mind…[Read more]

I’m just gonna make Vesper introduce himself now.

And… it was over. The dogs… gone, retreated to who-knows-where, the soldiers also gone. He took a deep breath and let his sword arm hang loosely by his side. The kids were safe.
He scanned the faces of his now-a…[Read more]

Oop! I must’ve missed November’s rescue.
Maybe a perfect wolf-howl-imitation will confuse the hounds…

Somehow our charries have to succeed… do any of your characters have a trick up their sleeves? Like a dog whistle?
I do know that someone has to save November.
@godlyfantasy12 I’m excited to “meet” your other characters, and see how these ones have changed!

And it all comes together…

“Seriously!” Corvina huffed, glaring at his arm.
Vesper searched the corridor and lowered his arm. He stepped forward, ready for anything. “What do you think that was?” he hissed.
“Doesn’t matter,” Corvina grumbled. “Point is, I los…[Read more]

It’s kind of funny reading Corvina’s interpretation of Vesper’s actions! She doesn’t realize just how scary the things he’s seen are.
Vesper
“I already told you. He knows someone important to me. Someone I need to find. That’s all.” She didn’t answer the question. Something was wrong with that boy, and if Corvina knew the pr…[Read more]

yeah. I was more thinking about the fact that I will need to kill one of my characters eventually. I don’t even know which one yet.

Thanks!
I read the information about Corvina and November… then I kept reading. So much death… I think we are all mourning those we know will die.

The Fly On the Wall
ha! I get it. Clever.
The Fly On the Wall means it’s not from any specific character’s perspective. It is the “fly on the wall” outside of the action looking in at what is happening. Spectating.

Some things I’m curious about:Is there anything wrong with the culture apart from the separation of East and West? Most dystopian books take an ideology and follow it almost like a slippery slope all the way to its worst outcome. So what is the issue so deeply ingrained in your society that L…[Read more]

I’m really curious about the connection between November and Corvina. What is it? How did it form?
Vesper
Corvina came to an abrupt halt. Him and his weird analogies… why couldn’t he grasp that fish? He groaned and tried to hide his face with his palm.
“Well, okay then.” He could feel her eyes roll.

He furrowed his brows. She was hiding something. Her talent in deflection and avoidance was… astonishing. If he hadn’t grown up needing to discern the truth in matters of life and death, he would have believed her.
“And when you find this person?” His question faded to a near whisper. He almost didn’t want to know the…[Read more]

Corvina scowled. “I really don’t see how that’s any of your business.”
“Okay, fair. I’m just… curious.” He shrugged, trying to throw the malice that her glare piled on top of him.
She groaned, then did a sort of half-smile. “Alright,” she said, finally breaking the lingering silence. “Tell ya what. I’ll tell you why I’m…[Read more]

You know what, things are going to be fun with Vesper and Corvina.

Something was wrong with Corvina. Her fists clenched and unclenched and she turned around, gazing at empty space. She swallowed, her fingers tracing invisible patterns in the air at her sides, causing nearby shadows to dance. She huffed, her eyes squeezed…[Read more]
