@keilah-h They never really do explain the science, do they? I would definitely have appreciated more of an explanation—no wonder poor Sophie is so confused by it all! Plus, the whole “unmapped stars” business…doesn’t seem very scientifically accurate, no?

@whalekeeper I read through the series in, like, two weeks? Over a year ago? So my memory is a little fuzzy 😛
Overall, I would give series was a solid B+. Like, there were things that irked me (for instance, some of the humor felt…off. Like, Sophie’s supposed to be saving the world and struggling through all these things, and the next page is…[Read more]

@keilah-h I think it’s super awesome that you write fanfiction!! The world definitely could use more quality fan works in it—they’re so much fun, and I admire the people who can write them (like you!) I also think that’s super neat that you’re writing from your own experience/frustrations. I don’t have autism, but I have a brother who does, and f…[Read more]

@arien Whoa, sounds like you have a lot of book-loving people in your family!!! I can only imagine the family reunions… *jealous sigh*
Heh, I think I talked about that story in a different thread—basically it’s about a girl who suddenly inherits a kingdom (and a MASSIVE debt from the previous rulers), and has to go on a quest to plunder a drago…[Read more]

@sarafini Oooh that sounds fun!! I’ve heard my brother mention it but I’ve never been super clear on how it works. Do you need to sign up for anything, or could one do it through Kingdom Pen?

Hello, friends!
I have not been particularly active lately what with #adulting and all that, so I wanted to pop in and hang out with you all for a little bit. <3333
This is a modified blog tag that I’m borrowing from the lovely Sarah Baran at TheSarcasticElf.com (seriously, if you don’t follow her blog, go do that right now; it’s full of wit,…[Read more]

Wilkins
He had heard the man’s voice and he knew, just knew, he was safe. His friend gripped his arm tighter, as if reading his thoughts. Daithí shot him a look which clearly translated to I know you’re not a fool, so don’t act like one. Wilkins sighed and smoothed his axe handle. Then he shrugged and stepped into the li…[Read more]

I think I’ll go with Ezekiel, as I’m still figuring out how to write Wilkins’ personality.
And Dáithí calling Wilkins a lad… He’s only a few years older than him.
Daithí
The shadows were lightening with the introduction of more window slits. He smiled at the sunshine as if the light weren’t stealing away his cover. No ma…[Read more]

You’re splitting up the twins?! *Horrified gasp*
Although, I can’t really say anything here. That is a huge plot point for my first book.
That sounds wild. XD

Would you mind/like it if Wilkins and Dáithí run into one/a group of your charies?
I was thinking maybe Ezekiel or Fin’s group, if it wasn’t a problem (although the group is pretty large, so Ezekiel may be better?).

Why did I start writing? Let me think…I don’t know. I grew up in and around books, and I guess it just naturally transferred to writing them. My siblings and I made up stories and histories for our made up play world’s, and we always intended to write them down.
Why am I still writing? I love words; how they work, how they change, and…[Read more]

Fun story! I liked your Bensnickle (Or however his name is spelled). Writing wise there aren’t very many things I’d tweak.
But um, do you want critique on the history side of things?

Wilkins
A headache. He sat up and rubbed his eyes, waiting for the pain to subside.
The room around him looked long deserted. Half a musty tapestry dangled from the wall, it’s other half lying forlorn on the stone floor. He shivered and wrapped his arms around his knees. Where am I?
A castle. The shivers up his spine muntiplied down his arms,…[Read more]

Um wow. I can definitely see the favorite. XD
I found one new character song over Christmas break. For Daithí. (‘Justice Calls’ from Jonah by Sight and Sound.)
And a few instrumentals, but do those count?

Daithí MacLassair: about 18-19 years old, 6′ but lightly built. A red fox in the book, Daithí has Flame red hair that comes down partially over his ears but not in his light hazel eyes that miss nothing and tell less. Foxish features. He’s the nephew of a Lasairin Clansman, and has devoted his life, and death, to the cause as a spy and assassin. H…[Read more]

Wilkins OLaith: about 16 years old. Is a gray fox in the book, a boy here. About 5’6″, and of a slight but strong build. Has tousled grayish-brownish-blonde hair cut a bit raggedly but shorter than Daithí’s. Dark eyebrows and lashes make his misty gray eyes stand out all the more. He’s a resistance fighter, yet with a gentle voice and a courteous…[Read more]

Actually, there isn’t much to worry about when it comes to Wilkins… Daithí may be another problem, but the two both need help, er, development.
Awww, no body better hurt those poor darlings!

I hope I got what November would say right…
The Twins
Run? The very idea! Vulkasin crossed his arms, face solemn.
Zlatan stepped back slightly to think. He ran one hand down the back of his neck, winced. “Then v’at would happen to you?”
“You…you don’t understand.” Novembré frowned and tugged at his curls. “I’m……[Read more]
