I was inspired by @mineralizedwriting’s chibi version of Tauren, and drew my own chibi version of… Well, kind of me. Except it’s just my personality. I actually look way more calm and serious in real life – and don’t look anything like this physically – but in my head, I’m the most insecure clutz 😂

Just popping on to say, this looks awesome! And I subscribed to Sarah’s blog several months back. Her posts are creepily relatable… *shifting eyes* I remember looking through her archives and finding her own Fellowship of the Ring gang.
I’ll be sure to put my own on here soon. 😉 Thank you for the topic!

I used one of the templates on here for a roleplay I’m in… This felt so good to make 🙂

If you’re uncomfortable with talking about it, we’ll drop the subject. Besides, this is for the KotLC debate, people.

If you’re not allowed to read Harry Potter, then KotLC is probably same deal. I personally don’t care for it myself, but some people on here like it, and their options are valid too 😊 Here’s a blurb I wrote real quick:
Sophie Foster, a shunned child genius, can’t seem to relate to anyone, not even her family. Not only is she super…[Read more]

Okay, cool, thanks for that amazingly detailed post XD I feel like this reply is wimpy in comparison. It sounds great, I’ll check it out!!

@felicity
I think it’s awesome that your dad let you research and determine that it wasn’t the right thing for you 😊 I guess you could say it’s a combination of things for you, and if it’s not your thing on a preference level, that’s cool.
HP is indeed more detailed when it comes to the magic. And you have a good point when it comes to readers…[Read more] -

I agree that hate for Harry Potter was passed down, but of course if someone’s parents tell them to avoid it, I’m not attacking that at all. Obedience is always better in those kind of situations.
Yeah, I’ve always found that although the line between ‘just magical’ and ‘satanic’ can be blurry, Harry Potter has nothing to do with…[Read more]

Btw, I started a topic about this too, so when I saw this, I thought yay, more people XD
I agree that the ‘breaking the rules’ trope is typical for the magical schools. I think it depends on the context. Honestly, I think it’s perfectly fine to read books with that stuff in it, unless you’re easily influenced by the characters’ actions. I don’t…[Read more]

And yeah, I figured she was probably a big fan of his work. To be honest, I’m not hating on the author and all the work she’s done. She’s gotten published. I haven’t. That’s an enormous achievement, and if she’s done it she deserves a bit of slack. It’s just the content itself that I didn’t like.
You can totally love it! I mean,…[Read more]

Okay yeah, it makes sense you haven’t noticed those things because you haven’t read HP or LotR. That’s understandable.
I’m not sure how the LotR elves’ abilities are categorized – they have strong connections with ancient peoples and powers, speak pretty much all languages, and…well, from being immortal, are probably…[Read more]

Thanks for agreeing with me, and yes, I forgot the Harry Potter parallels, but it’s true. The flaver-coded lockers and the candy with the collectible pins really got on my nerves. Not because it wasn’t interesting, it was just that I’ve seen it before in Hogwarts.
Yeah. It’s just that Messenger’s elves can’t even compare…[Read more]

Okay, I saw the Wingfeather strand and thought I’d make my own XD I’ve never understood why KotLC was so popular with people. I feel like Messenger just cut and pasted the elf concept from LotR – vegetarianism and all. Please, fight me. Also beware, I love fighting back.
@godlyfantasy12 and I think @keilah-h are fans, right?

Enid replied to the topic Writing Romantic Subplots! in the forum Characters 3 years, 8 months ago
Wow, at this point in my life, I am literally dreaming up whole stories. Like, remembering plot points and certain phrases and everything. Last night I dreamed up a romance between a girl and a fairy king with the most enormous moustache…

Pff, you are not a party pooper ❤ Talking about romantic subplots is basically the same subject – only less chaotic. We can easily return to the rules and have the same amount of fun.
Ah, yes, life is our research.

And the best part is, we can analyse these boy’s actions and romantic gestures, recording them ever faithfully to use for literary purposes…
Because we’re writers…
No other reason…

Thank you!! I wasn’t certain if I’d still have fondness for the characters, or if I’d want to burn the whole thing with endless fire 😅 I must say, it has been tough paving my way through the previously terrible world-building, and a few characters have indeed bitten the dust.
Silent moment for the left-behind charries 😔
