Ok, so cinderblazing sounds interesting. What I want to know is what makes the voidflame different? Is it inherently evil, or is it simply the anti particle of cinderflame, and if so, in what ways does it have opposite behaviors?
I don’t really have answers to any of those questions XD. I liked the idea of having a weird sort of f…[Read more]

and get the proper amount of sleep to do so, otherwise this conversation will fall flat.
Proper amount of sleep? My amount of sleep is apparently four to six hours… Whatever.
It is a serious question, but there’s a few things I think must be accepted if you do subscribe to this. If God didn’t have those attributes, He would by…

Does anyone have any New Year’s resolutions? Maybe about writing, your relationship with Christ, etc. I thought it’d be fun to share and encourage/ inspire each other!
Here are a few of mine:
-Work on sharing the Gospel with others
-Finish the first draft of a novel
-Get better at drawing full bodies instead of just head’s lol
-Set an achie…[Read more]

@highscribeofaetherium @thearcaneaxiom
And while I’m at it, I might as well share this other magic system that I started a while ago, but just made some updates to. It has no name as of yet.
So this is the one where you can shift your mass from one part of your body to another. Here are the exact mechanics.
On Razath, pieces of celestial debris…[Read more]

@thearcaneaxiom @highscribeofaetherium
So you know Essenceburning? At this point, I’ve completely abandoned that, but I still might make a somewhat elemental magic system. I recently created (at least the beginnings of) two new magic systems. One of them is essentially an entirely fire-based magic system, and it isn’t very complex so far. The…[Read more]

You see a trolley racing down a track, and 5 of your favorite books are stuck on the track, but there is a lever that lets you redirect the tract on your most favorite book. What do you do? (No, you can’t buy new copies)
What a cruel question!! 😂

Yeah, there is no shard there. I know why there is a perpendicularity there, though. RoW has an epigraph that answers that question if you read between the lines a bit. Threnody doesn’t have a shard either but probably contains some of Ambition’s investiture.

I’m assuming that the place called Patji’s eye is probably the location of the perpendicularity, which is why the aviar gain invested powers there. It’s interesting that perpendicularities seem to leak investiture into nearby things. This isn’t mentioned in Warbreaker, but the flowers called Tears of Edgli contain investi…[Read more]

It’s definitely fairly common. In HoA Vin was held in silver shackles to prevent her using them. Sanderson actually considered silver being used instead of aluminum, but decided that aluminum would work better, because it would start out rare and then become more common. Maybe silver just isn’t viable against most investiture. I w…[Read more]

Okay, I sound like an idiot and feel like one.
This reply is going to be short, I didn’t get to sleep until like four this morning so my thinking braincells are dead.
Shall we take this a different direction? Do you believe that God is not God, unless He is Omnipotent, Omnibenevolent, Omnipresent, and Omniscient?
Is my guess…[Read more]

Another thing interesting in Silence is the silver. I think that’s the only place we’ve seen where silver is important. It seems that silver is sort of similar to aluminum, except that it seems to actually hurt the shades, whereas aluminum would presumably just block them. But if silver has some sort of effect on investiture, I w…[Read more]

Shadows was interesting, if a little creepy. I was quite interested in the “Evil” which I’m assuming had to do with a shard splintering.
Yeah it was interesting. I’m not sure if the Evik is directly caused by a Shard splintering, but the shades are so it seems likely. Arcanum Unbounded mentions that a shard was shattered near Th…[Read more]

In other words, RAFO😂
I wonder if you could use Feruchemy. Remember those disc things in BoM? What if you were able to store connection to Elantris and then tap it so that you could use AonDor anywhere?
Raoden assumed that they all came form the Dor, which I’m guessing is secretly just Devotion and Dominion, despite just being s…

I have now finished the Emperor’s Soul. I actually really liked it! Forgery is a pretty cool magic system. The book was very different from what I’m used to from Sanderson.

Can mathematics not be part of the set of things that are not made, like God? It doesn’t say there was nothing at all besides God. It says all things that are made are made by Him, so why must math be part of that set? Is not this language we’re using of things that are made, and things that are unmade, logical language, the…

I think Sanderson said you would have to “hack” the magic system to get AonDor to work off world.
Sanderson is well known for his magic systems, but I feel like AonDor and all of the other magic systems that are only hinted at are all fairly boring. AonDor is quite generic for a magic system. It can do basically anything, and it…[Read more]

I didn’t think you were. I’m used to that, my grandfather and my…technically step-grandmother are not Calvinists either. In fact, Grandpa openly opposes Calvinism to the point of saying that John Calvin was a heretic. It has caused some…divisions to say the least.
