We’ve all been there, lol, just tag us by typing the name with the @ symbol, then quoting is just the quotation marks at the top, and it should show an indented box for the quote.
Thank you so much for the help!!
Same, hard all the way! I appreciate soft worldbuilding when done right, but I’m much more of a hard worldbuilder. Lot…

Sorry I’ve been MIA, I had family from out of state staying with us because my great-grandfather passed away and the funeral was yesterday… but I’m back for a little bit before I leave for work!

It is more normal to me, yes. (although I haven’t necessarily been “raised” in this church…only been going to it about 6-7 years now, haha) I believe in such experiences, but I can’t explain how it feels to be in that moment, honestly…words just can’t describe it. Idk.
We all have things we are or aren’t comfortable with, and…[Read more]

Thanks y’all! I’m feeling okayish enough to read these posts, at least.
I’ve seen mostly non-denoms and Pentecostals… but I haven’t asked a lot of people. I know @godlyfantasy12 has some interesting Pentecostal views but I don’t think she would want a conversation about it.
we’re independent, and that means our beliefs are p…

We believe baptism is not necessary for salvation and life in heaven, though obviously you should be baptized if at all possible. Some infants, such as those miscarried before birth, will not be able to be baptized. They will still go to heaven. I will need to ask my dad for the rest of his reasons and we have a book in our church…[Read more]

@thearcaneaxiom Ty for understanding and for your kindness <3
I’m still here to kindly discuss things if anyone would like, just not for debate 😊
@theducktator Youth Group can be fun for sure! I have also gone to a more local church’s youth group (my actual church is 1 hour away from us, and we tend to have to be there at 9 AM on Sundays for…[Read more]

☹️ Hope you feel better! I tend to stay up way too late when I’m sick too, but I’ve never stayed up all night before. I am both horrified and impressed.
we sing a mean acapella.
Lol. We were acapella for years, but now we have a flutist.

I am interested in this and I was ready to talk. Alas, I caught a nasty bug ten minutes after my last comment – no joke, I felt it wash over me super quickly – and I have a tendency to stay up all night whenever I’ve caught something.
Sooo I’ve been up for more than twenty-four hours…[Read more]

After some prayer and some reflection, I kindly request that we leave this debate where it stands.
I’ve been thinking on it too much, and truthfully gives me an ounce of stress I don’t need right now.
It’s also obvious that neither of us are going to change our stance, and KP isn’t the place to debate theology (in my opinion)…[Read more]

Yes, the youth pastor is the pastor overseeing the youth. My church is larger, so we do have a youth group (the middle-school age students meet Monday nights; the high school students meet Wednesday nights). The purpose is to give the youth a space to not only have community of their own age, but also to give teaching…[Read more]

The Church of Latter Day Saints is the official name for Mormons, right?
We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

I’d also like to ask, can you give me your own summary of what you believe, belonging to the Latter-Day Saints? I have a limited knowledge of what y’all believe, and I would like to hear it from your point of view.

So why is there so much open endedness, and contradiction though? Even if you could explain away every contradiction, like the one about the staffs, isn’t the mere fact that we need to in the first place a bit odd for something that is meant to be perfect and God breathed in every word? Could you show me that the Bible also e…

I’m a Youth Pastor’s kid😂
…Why not though? If an ancient prophet gave an opinion about something, and that’s recorded, does that invalidate the entirety of scripture? We know that prophets and apostles were imperfect men, take Peter, who straight up denied Christ 3 times! I just don’t see why it’s so all or noth…

I had to google a definition of infallible for this, so hopefully I understand what you are talking about. I think that all of the stories and ideas in the Bible are true, but that there is room for error in things like spelling, and errors in translation. For example, Nebuchadnezzar…[Read more]

So here’s my question though, how do you know that scripture is infallible?
We can’t know if it is or not, besides through the faith of the Spirit. But what is the most logical option?
If you take Biblical philosophy and try to find a verse that directly contradicts it, you aren’t going to find anything more than vaguer verses t…[Read more]

@trailblazer @thearcaneaxiom @whalekeeper
I definitely agree with Whaley on this one. If you believe scripture is God breathed…if you believe that God is truth, then you either believe that it is ALL truth and not just the parts you want to believe or you deny it entirely.
We can’t just say that the Bible is full of flaws and yet still…[Read more]

I think I agree more with Whaley- I’m not questioning that what is in the Bible isn’t true or wasn’t inspired by God. Where I’ve been pondering things recently has less to do with the validity of the Scriptures themselves and more with the translation and the selection of the Scriptures. I’m just curious what caused…[Read more]

I personally don’t think there’s much to argue over it.
If you believe it, you believe in a so far consistent, well-logicked (lol, is that a word?) philosophy.
If you don’t believe in infallibility, then you’re taking what pieces you want as truth, and essentially creating your own philosophy. After all, there’s no reason to…[Read more]
