@evelyn-collins ooh, another idea I had….

Maybe this last flashback was a dream? And when she’s dreaming about it, something happens that didn’t happen when she actually did it. She wakes up and wonders why her brain went to that when it clearly didn’t happen in her memories, then realized it was a dream. That sets up her being on the Imperial ship.

I try my best to keep one of the biggest purposes of my writing, to glorify God, in the forefront of my mind, but like you said, sometimes I just do it for fun. I do believe God can work through our writing, but I also think story is something He’s given us to enjoy and have fun with.

Oh no!! What makes you think that? From what I’ve read and heard about your story, I think it’s fine.

Some more ideas:

• Leo comes across Emerie once or twice. They don’t interact much, but Leo tires something daring and probably dumb, and Emerie warns her not to get on Hemlock’s bad side. Or, maybe she’s the one who Leo asks if Hemlock’s her dad, which she obviously answers no to.
