@daisy-torres Great!! 😊
@scoutfinch180 Ok, hope your editing goes well!! 👍
@devastate-lasting Ok! The purpose of the challenge is just to be persistent in writing, so as long as you write, then it doesn’t matter how much you write!
@lewilliams It’s ok if you participate in a smaller way! The purpose of the challenge is really just to be per…[Read more]

@scoutfinch180 Pirate bots are basically bots that copy your work off a site and paste them elsewhere. It’s no big deal to me since I’m not making any revenue off of my work, but if you sign a contract with a site then that can hurt the income that the site makes since everyone will go to the ripoff sites to read instead. I’d say don’t worry about…[Read more]

Yes, I’m glad it’s not discouraging. 🙃
I I’m actually in the process of self-publishing a young adult fantasy novella, as well as a young adult dystopian novel. They would be my 8th and 6th books.
Yeah, go for it with the smaller pieces.

@scoutfinch180 Also, basically my plan is to start posting stuff online to garner attention while also trying to land an agent and working on things… Around this time last year I finally grew comfortable enough with my writing quality to post some online.. I say go for it, if you’re comfortable with it! Can’t hurt. Do watch for pirates though.…[Read more]

@scoutfinch180 Of course! It’s growing, I think, and has some famous creators on there…Big readership as well. I do have to warn you though, that a lot of the content and things are a bit more on the liberal side…then again, all sites have that kind of stuff, but it has much nicer conditions and workspace than what I have seen before. And I’ve…[Read more]

A literary agent pitches your novel to the big publishing companies and negotiates the best contract for you. They represent authors and are like the person in between the author and publishing houses. They work on commission, getting about 10-15% of what the author they represent makes. Basically, without a literary agents,…[Read more]

@scoutfinch180 I believe that while the majority of Tapas seems to be anime-type stuff, I think you can publish pretty much whatever you want there.

If you’re wanting to go with traditional publishing, then the first thing you’ll need to do is get a literary agent. You can find them on sites like Publisher’s Marketplace and Query Tracker. Or you can just search literary agents who represent [your genre]. Most big publishing houses will not look at your manuscript without a…[Read more]

@scoutfinch180 So 1, definitely take ur time and research it.
2, check out these sites, Barnes &Noble Press, Ingramspark (if the price is too much u can look up coupons, and Ingram does hardcovers), Amazon KDP and I’m sure there are loads of others but those are the 3 I’ve heard of often from writers.
And don’t forget to pray about it!!

I was recently thinking about how to get myself motivated to reach my word count each day (Kathleen’s first video really helps!!) and I decided it would be fun to create a routine for myself. If anyone wants to, it would be awesome for y’all to share your routines and help inspire each other to write each day!
