That sounds so cool! I’d love to see what you come up with!

I recommend:
- Phantastes by George MacDonald: I only caution you that there is an instance where a character uses dark magic, but it is not lauded.
- The Princess and The Goblin by George MacDonald: it and it’s sequel are both great reads. i can’t think of anything that would make one feel wary of reading it.
- Wingfeather Saga by Andrew…

I don’t know who is my MOST favorite in this WIP, but I know that Marian, Fabian and Jade definitely are among the higher ranking ones… but some for differing reasons.
- Marian, because she came from my elf-craze when I was eleven and has floated in and out of stories like a homeless woman until now.
- Jade, because I enjoy his…

My biggest joy is probably how much fun some of my characters are to write. One of them has a sort of snobbish sarcasm and masculinity that masks his inner anguish, and I have a definite attraction to characters that need redemption, so he’s cool.
My headache… is revising for what feels like the thirtieth time because i keep on spotting flaws…[Read more]

I just realized i didn’t have a couple questions so I’ll add one more:
What’s your opinion on a prince that can turn into a dragon? Just as a random question for a later WIP.

I do also have a couple questions :).
I have a map that I’ve been working on for YEARS and I don’t even think it’s very geographically accurate, (it’s not in an identifiable shape, but it’s very crowded because I went crazy on the hills and mountains and such) any suggestions? It’s a current one of many side-things that I do instead of…[Read more]

I’m totally in the same boat about worldbuilding! But one often helpful thing about worldbuilding: a guiding principle or two which is something that makes it different from the ordinary world, like magic rings that give the wearer powers in LOTR.

Cool! I’ll have to check it out sometime!
My short story is about a thief/occasional assassin??/con-artist named Jade who is sent to a frozen moon to kill a monster — a giant blue lizard with a human brain and some surgical alterations to make him walk on two legs — and to make things more complicated, Jade is trying not to…[Read more]

OOOOO! This sounds cool!
I have lived in C.A., I.L. (a bit outside Chicago), and K.Y. in my short lifespan. So if you have some questions, then I can give answers!
Also, I am learning lots about government and will gladly give you tips for creating one for your world.

Jade. He is a HAM, and would take singing lessons if he really wanted fame like that (but this is before his world is really rocked since his dad’s death and his mom’s ensuing insanity and he’s nice and cozy being, in his words, a scoundrel — as long as Fabian doesn’t know)
Would your character be more likely to go to a dressy ball or a simple,…[Read more]

Jade. no question.
Who’s most likely to try and guess the answer to a question they don’t understand, even if it’s in another language?
Jade, Fabian, or Tammy. Not sure which.

Welcome to KP!
I am @ScoutFinch180 and I like writing speculative fiction.
What is a hybrid author?
I’ve been thinking about trying Lunar Chronicles, but I have cold feet because I don’t want insomnia over character anxiety or too much sexual-stuff that’ll make me want to take a shower (kissing and hugging is fine). Does it lean…[Read more]

Two of my characters come to mind: Jade, because he’s stuck up and will do it if his pride is offended, and Tammy, because she’s likely to jump into something head-on.
Which of your characters is most likely to drink excessive amounts of Red Bull instead of napping to get through a day?
For me, that’d be Fabian, or Jade. Fabian likes to get…[Read more]

Ok, here aer some of mine:
- Wingfeather Saga by Andrew Peterson: I love this series. Probably some of the best modern books I’ve read. As far as content, there is very little potty humor on a VERY small scale (and it’s between little boys, so it doesn’t feel useless because it’s something young boys would do (no offense to any guys…
