@sam-kowal That was an, um, interesting poem? 😀 Thanks for the summary; it is very kind of you to do that instead of forcefully commanding me to read the book like Ethryndal was trying to do… 🙂 😀
Innocence does not vindicate you.
I actually LOVE that! It should be used in a story. The villain could say it, couldn’t he? It’…[Read more]

@Sam-Kowal Well now I feel dumb. I wasted all that yelling and you’re not even guilty. 😂*chides herself about the dangers of skim-reading*
However, that is a very choke-worthy summary of a fantastic book, so the indignant glare isn’t subsiding any time soon. *glares* Innocence does not vindicate you.
(That… actually doesn’t make any sense. Oh…

@ethryndal Hey, it worked! You are no longer threatening @sam-kowal but are simply requesting he appear and make a speech! 😀
Counter attack: My favorite was The Horse and His Boy because that one seemed the most realistic to me, with less magic. If you had been on here lately and met me you would know that I don’t like fantasy much. *re…[Read more]

@Rochellaine I think he read book 1, but not book 2. Yo. @Sam-Kowal. Help us out with this one.
Until then…
HOW DARE YOU, ROCHELLAINE. THOSE BOOKS WERE MY CHILDHOOD. AND THE LAST ONE IS THE BEST ONE!! SHEESH!!
Also, I don’t think I’ve ever had the privilege of speaking with you before. Hi. The names Sarah. *shakes your hand* Welcome to KP.…[Read more]

@ethryndal *diverts attack* I’ve never finished Narnia! (I haven’t read the last book in the series.)
Actually, I think @sam-kowal was saying he hadn’t read the Wingfeather series, but had read Narnia. 😀

Wait. WAIT. @Sam-Kowal… Did you just say you’ve NEVER FINISHED NARNIA??? *starts to hyperventilate* I’m gonna… I… *gasps for air* THIS IS NOT OKAY. *fixes you with the glare of righteous death*

I had an idea for a story a while ago, but I never wrote it because I was working on too many other things – and still am. So I’ll set the idea out there and hope one of you likes it/tries it out.
So, the MC is an assassin hired to kill people who become too threatening to the people in power. Kind of got the idea from the “Kennedy Curse” and s…[Read more]

@sam-kowal I meant to tag you here and got confused…
Couldn’t Stan climb up with his claws? And people can climb without claws, he could do it that way. Right? Tell him to keep trying to fly. I would say a good tip is to do power strokes for take off and relax. Make your wing tips almost met in dead air for power strokes. But of course for l…[Read more] -

You should just write parodies of popular novels. I would most definitely read them.

@sam-kowal Those are all very intriguing…and I just happen to be ending my current WIP, so I have a feeling that my next hero might be a bit different than usual…
@rochellaine Okay, I have to ask, which Jules Verne novel would that be?
-
Rochellaine replied to the topic Writing Prompts in the forum Art 6 years, 8 months ago
@sam-kowal Yes, and I understand that some people want books like that which end badly for the MC, just don’t expect me to read them! 😀 Or at least – warn me first that it’s not going to end well. For example: when I read Romeo and Juliet, it wasn’t so bad because I was expecting them to die, but I read a Jules Verne novel where the hero and h…[Read more]

@sam-kowal *smiles at Stan* Thanks. That was a little helpful?
😀 😀 😀
@dekreel If you want to know why I never make Stan disappear, it’s because dragons are real. Also because Stan is always nice and never does anything worthy of disappearing.

@sam-kowal I agree with everything you said…except the last sentence. 😀
Did you read my “rant” in response to the one @supermonkey42 wrote? I like to look up to the heroes in the book I read, so a hero who messed up is realistic, and I will appreciate that, but in the end I want him to solve the problems and be a true hero. 🙂

“So, Jenna?” began Dekreel after their previous conversation had petered.
“Yeah?”

Oh, no, <i>that<i> question. She sighed a little. “Umm… several things, I guess.”

Sooo, I wrote this and showed it to my brother, but I don’t think he found it as funny as I did. So I’m wondering if it’s just me, or if maybe other writers will understand the problem posed here:
