  • Hey everyone! I’m a little stuck on names for my characters. Every one of my stories has at least one character with a unique name–even my many fanfictions have tons of OCs (original characters) alongside those belonging to the original story. I want to know how you choose your characters’ names. Here’s how I do it:

    1. I stick with natural names…

  • RULE UPDATES

    1. Introduce yourself one at a time

    2.  The “lol”s must come naturally. So you know what that means….

    3. WAIT FOR THEM TO INTRODUCE THEMSELVES FIRST!!!! It’s a surprise party after all

  • I’m trying to get back into doing art more regularly, so I was wondering if anyone wanted a character drawn? (I could also do landscapes or buildings, but I’m best at people. Also better at girls, but I could use some practice drawing guys as well.)

Just give me a description, (photo reference would be appreciated if you have any,) and I’d love…[Read more]

I’m happy I’m not the only broken record on here. You just like what you like you know? XD

I don’t think I’ve heard of the Casson Family series before, but from the little you said about it, it sounds really interesting. Do you have a favorite book and character from the series?

  • Hey, guys!

I just found out Amazon Kindle is coming out with a reading program similar to Radish or Wattpad called “Kindle Villa”, where you can get paid for readers reading your novels.

That being said, does anyone have anything they’d like to share about it? (Questions are welcome too!)

I going to be doing a short (or however long it takes me to reach my word-count goal) writing sprint if any of y’all want to join. 🙂

As much as I love complex backstories, I totally understand what you mean by big-bad-powerful villains. They feel so strong and powerful like if they say they rule the world, you’d believe it.

Because they are so much more memorable. And it forces the protagonist to grow and become stronger to defeat them.

  • Typos:

Night had decended upon the land, tucking her starry blanket over the sky and misting the fragrant, fresh scent of flowers and wild grass into the air.

Kathleen lay on the thick prairie grass, her bonnet temporarily discarded by her side as she stared up into the gentle folds of midnight sky. Her shoulders burned terribly from hours spent…

  • This is very random, but when y’all are writing and you get stuck at a scene, do you make yourself keep working on it so you stay in order? Or do you sort of jump to the next scene that interests you so you can keep up your momentum?

Adding some peoples… (also this might go through twice…)

@jenwriter17 Thanks so much! Those articles helped a lot. I definitely tell myself those lies on a regular basis, and it helps to know that someone else struggles with them too.

  • Hello all! I’ve been feeling really discouraged lately about my writing. It doesn’t seem very good to me, and reading other people’s amazing work doesn’t help. How do y’all get motivated when you just want to chuck it all in the garbage can (if I’m not the only one that ever wants to do that)?
