Favorite character? Ah, that’s hard. Too hard… I can’t 🤣 I love them all! Probably Sam or Boromir, though. What about you?
Oh yes, Sam. He’s the best! So loyal and loving all the way there and back! I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say they liked Boromir though. I’m curious, why? 🙂
What about you?
Definitely Eowyn, followed close…[Read more]

Yes, The Count of Monte Cristo is so good! Wow, that’s cool your dad likes it! It doesn’t seem like the kind of book that a non-book person would really like, just because it’s so long and has some complicated stuff. (Seriously, I almost lost patience with it when I read it the first time, because just as I was getting into the…[Read more]

I’m from the Midwest; I love writing, creative lettering, cartography, decorating, baking, languages, and medical science. I’d like to go into the medical field someday–specifically exercise or nutrition (basically lifestyle coaching)–though I’d prefer marriage and raising a family over a career ;P But it’s good to have a backup plan…

Amen! The King reigns!
I’m not very experienced in it, but anytime I make anything from scratch it’s so much more enjoyable than buying it at a store!! What’s your favorite aspect of homesteading?
My favorite aspect…let’s see. Probably gardening. I like that a lot and it’s so relaxing and beautiful!
Since I’m into History too, I like…[Read more]

Thank you. 😉
Hey, that’s really helpful! Can’t wait till I’m a wise jester (at least I’m wise, even if I am a goof)
I trust your Thanksgiving was amazing and the turkey did not shoot out of the oven (look up the poem “The Turkey Shot Out of the Oven”) lol

Hello! I don’t believe we’ve met.
Everything you said is so true! I love seeing how God has been working in others’ lives.
Well, I got my braces early this month . . . I think they’re saying 20-24 months. One down, 23 more to go! lol

Hello! I would like some ideas on this scene.
Background: Christopher and Briana used to like each other, but then they got captured and Briana blamed it on Christopher. She is trying to convince herself that she hates him, though she still likes him. Christopher loves her, but he hates her for hating him. (does that make sense lol?) Currently…[Read more]

Yes, The Count of Monte Cristo is good! Sometime I want to write an article or something about how the quest for revenge is different in The Count and The Lantern Bearers by Rosemary Sutcliff. (You should read it! It’s the third in the Roman Britain Trilogy: The Eagle of the Ninth, The Silver Branch, and The Lantern Bearers.)
It’s tech…[Read more]

Amen to everything!!! Our God is an awesome God!
I don’t think I met you yet but…I’m so happy to have another sister in Christ! (Sending a virtual hug…) The amazing thing about Christians is that we are all connected, even when we’ve never met. We’re all part of one Family.
Thanks for that post! It was really encouraging to me and…[Read more]

I love your focus on God, and how you’re just gushing with joy lol 🙂 I know you’ve been through some challenges, but God is faithful and always will be.
Ah yes, Hobby Lobby. What would we do without it? And cats. And toothpaste. And . . . floss. I have braces and am not enjoying how long flossing takes.
Don’t worry! It’s…[Read more]

I guess I do like a lot of instrumental music! It comes from being in a family of crazy music lovers. We all play instruments. What’s your favorite Ludovico Einaudi song? Mine is Due Tremonti or Experience. Or a million others. You should listen to Evynne Hollens! I especially like her duets with Peter.
My favorite…[Read more]

Seriously? Questions from you? Like we haven’t known each other for what, our whole lives? XD
1. LOTR (It’s just one book, but if you count The Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales and all the History of Middle Earth, it’s a series, right?), the Roman Britain trilogy by Rosemary Sutcliff, and The Chronicles of Pry…[Read more]

Hey!! I thought it would be fun to have a topic where we can share things we’re thankful for from the last year.
For me, one of the big things is recovery from Covid. (I love how this says “Covid” isn’t a word lol) My family was very sick–I had to go to the ER twice. But God brought all of us through.
More generally, I’m thankful for the…[Read more]

I just have to say, this is super exciting for me, because I discovered KP through a friend last summer but I now I’m finally joining! (thanks @madelyn!) The thing that really hooked me was the community. I am SO glad to know I’m not the only Tolkien nerd who wants to write to glorify God. (Because yes, I am totally a Tolkien nerd!)

@kathleenramm I definitely agree that a subtle/covert allegory is far more powerful than an overt one, simply for the reason that in reading an allegory that is more difficult to discover (in the older sense of the word), the reader is forced to think through it far more deeply than an obvious, surface-level allegory. (There is also a unique…[Read more]

Ooo, yeah. I feel like Harry Potter would be one of those series so many people would love to read for the first time again. Especially because it’s really nostalgic for a lot of people as well. It’d be kinda like reliving a piece of your childhood.
Narnia would be so fun to read for the first time again!…[Read more]

Hmm, that’s a hard question. There are so many books I’d like to momentarily forget the plot twists of so I could enjoy the surprise again. Especially when listening to these books with other people and trying not to spoil anything.
Just off the top of my head, though, I’d say the Wingfeather Saga, The Green Ember series, or the…[Read more]

I really like allegories that are subtle. Where the story alone stands strong by itself and the allegory just adds a layer of depth and core themes.Mainly because, if the story I am reading is very obviously an allegory, all I can think about is the story its an allegory of instead of the story itself, which gets in the way of me…[Read more]
