Poor Jake… :'( Love the lines, though!
Ruben sounds like an amazing brother and an amazing character! I’m a fan already. 🙂
Agh, I love the accent! Otto sounds like a fun guy. XD
Aww, thank you so much! <3333

Ooo… Asor sounds very intriguing… I especially like that last line… I have a feeling I’d be a big fan of his. 😉
That first line… XD *chef’s kiss* Love it!
How cool! He sounds like a fun character.
Oh. my. Goodness!!! Those are hilarious, and I love them!!! XD (I’m already a huge fan…[Read more]

So, I thought it’d be fun to share three of a character’s lines (or however many characters you want to do) that are distinctive to their personalities and could, by themselves, be used to describe your character. Here’s mine:
Character: Catherine Miranda Davis
“The day you come to court me, Rudy Newark, is the day I learn how to use Uncle J…

The moonlight shone in through the kitchen window, sending shadows skittering across the tile floor. I pushed up the tablecloth that was draped over my hideout – kitchen tables are very useful peices of furniture – and peeked into the dark recess of the pantry for the umpteenth time. The double-sided tape, chipotle pepper, mousetraps, and frying…

Welp, I’m very late to the party, but I thought I’d pop in anyway.
I think that when things like what you’re experiencing happen, drafts show their beauty. 🙂 I know with every draft of my novels/short stories, they become better. Perhaps if you tried finishing the story, taking a bit of a break, and then diving in again, you’d…[Read more]

Yeah, I like birds! I don’t watch them or anything, but I enjoy learning about them. I used the chickadee’s “Fee-bee” call in one of my school papers. It’s so fun how it can be interpreted to mean the name “Phoebe;” perfect fuel for a writer. 😉
Aww, thanks! 😀
Ooo… That sounds amazing!!! I love the idea of writing in some of the “pu…[Read more]

Lydia S. replied to the topic How to know if your book should be a standalone or series? in the forum General Writing Discussions 3 years, 1 month ago
I am pretty much going to echo what a lot of the other gals said! Honestly, I simply decide based on if I have more stories to tell. For my romances, there is only going to be one book. I don’t have enough material to stretch it out any longer. My fantasy world is the opposite. Right now, I’m at five novel ideas (one in the pro…[Read more]

Ah, yes, the methods of the Shrike… They’re a bit startling coming from a creature that appears so harmless. Did you choose that pseudonym for your villain based off of our villains personality/characteristics?
Aww, thx! Yeah, that is sad. Dragons are so cool!
Well, it’s a bit like medieval fantasy in regards to the weapons and armor…[Read more]

No, you’re totally fine! I’m sorry I’m so late. Between working and school, I don’t have a lot of free time. 🙁
Ooo, I love Sasha already!!! He sounds like an epic villain, and I love his bad guy name. I’m a big fan of the redemptive character arc, too. 😀
So, my fantasy WIP (the book Aidyl is from) is about Duxus Aledrick. Basically…[Read more]

Thank you so much for the offer!!! My parents don’t want my email out online though (not because they don’t trust y’all, but because there are trolls out there), so I won’t be able to. I hope the rest of your book goes well for you!!! God bless! <333

Aww, thx!
I know! It can be so sad to let a villain go. I know my main villain (the one who leads Aidyl further astray and prompts her to join him) is one of my favs due to his personality. He’s quirky, pessimistic, sarcastic, and generally very fun to write for. But my coauthor and I made the decision to let him go. It’s sad to wat…[Read more]

Lydia S. replied to the topic Multiple Protagonists in the forum General Writing Discussions 3 years, 2 months ago
I think having multiple POVs is totally fine, and it’s my opinion that it can even make your story better! You get to hear from different people who feel, think, and act in different ways and experience different events. This can add layers to your story. I have multiple POVs in most of my novels. In one of them, I think I have s…[Read more]
