Hey everybody! So, I’m really wanting to earn some money somehow and I thought I’d try my hand at Graphic design. I enjoy it just doing stuff on Canva for fun myself, but I’d like to get better so would y’all want me to make any book covers for you? Even for short stories! Also any tips from those who do a bit of design @gracie-j thinking of you lol, that’d be great!
here’s what I need if y’all want something!
1. author name (if your comfortable, if not there won’t be a name or you’ll have to give me something else to put)2. Full title
3. Any tag lines
4. color, theme, specific images and ideas, detailed or not, specified font (flowy, crisp and clear, techy etc) layout (where you want all text) and Genre(s)
5. anything else you want to add

- Other details: Cityscape and/or sunrise
As for tips? Hmm…well, every artist’s eye is different, so I can’t give you advice on creativity. But I do recommend keep colors and fonts limited (to maybe two or three of each) and well contrasted. So maybe a simple, non-fussy font for the author’s name and a flowing, elegant font for the title – but not two different kinds of pretty fonts. Make sense? Study other covers to get an idea of what fits the theme/genres. OH! And when using Canva, try out changing the transparency of the image, font, or graphic you’re using! You can come up with some cool effects by doing that!

Color palette: Blue and grey primarily, white, purple, brown, black… mostly darker-ish colors
Theme: Bravery, knighthood, faith, water (relevant to the plot), magic, romance (only if it fits), swords (is that a theme?), and basically anything you think might fit! 🙂

Themes: It’s kind of a contemporary coming-of-age story and, basically, the story of a high school bully (someone seemingly destined for prison) changing from a jerk to a gentleman. It centers around him and the girl who kind of initiates the change. And it does end in a romance. 😉 I guess elements that might work would be light breaking through darkness, alleys, graffiti, snow, and Christmas.
