Very well put @gracie-j ! I whole heartedly agree. It’s not necessarily the evil in the book that makes it “not Christian” but the light that the evil act is portrayed in. Making sure that the overall message in your story is good and Christ focused and that evil is shown as being indeed evil and has consequences.

I agree with about the beach! There is nothing like being in the middle of the ocean with deep blue water unfolding in beautiful waves as far as the eye can see. But however as much I like the ocean, I don’t think I’d be able to write there. At least not Florida beaches. In the summer the sand burns your feet and the water boils you…[Read more]

What is your Ideal Writing Spot?
My dream writing spot would be high in a tree deep in a lavish green forest next to a creek in the spring. Now wait! Before you roll your eyes at me hear me out. Being outdoors, (and especially forests) gives me so much story inspiration. The smell of the fresh wooded air, the sound of the running creek, and the…[Read more] -

If your story has strong Christian themes, I would consider it a “Christian book”. The typical salvation story, like you mentioned, covers just one Christian theme: salvation through Christ. But that’s not all that the Bible teaches. The Bible teaches you how to live and teaches beauty and truth. If your book also teaches truth and living in a…[Read more]

Explain exactly? All right then.
A Crinkle Cookie is a is a baked or cooked food that is typically small, round and sweet. This confection is usually enjoyed around the holidays and it usually contains flour, sugar, and some type of oil or fat. It was invented by Helen Fredell in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Before baking, you lightly roll…[Read more]

So I was trying to get the Kingdom chef to add crinkle cookies to the menu, but he said he wouldn’t be able to add those to the cafe for another three months. 🙁 I guess you will have to wait for those crinkle cookies until sometime in November or December, then.
However, to make up for this, I decided to send some homemade crinkle…[Read more]

Yeah, the reply issue-thing is just the site getting too overloaded. Sometimes you have to wait a minute for the replies to load. Putting links in replies shouldn’t cause an issue, so I’m not sure why taking them out fixed it. But I have found that having good internet and browser helps with these…[Read more]

Why didn’t I think of Agatha Christie?! I’m sure that there are tons of writing lessons I could learn from her. Writing mystery novels are not what you would call my strong suit. Not by a long shot.
I am ashamed to say that I have not read the Silmarillion yet. Though I intend on reading it as soon as possible. My brother as been…[Read more]

@michelle Sorry for the delay, But here are my thoughts!
I like how each of the friends, Freddy, Eddy, Al, and Hilda all have unique personalities. I love it when kid’s books have good friendships. I also liked how each chapter had its own little theme, and I also liked the humor!
My biggest critique would be that the stories are much more K…[Read more]

Love the way you put that. One of the most unique things about being human is the ability to create, and to glorify God through art.
Oh, and I never got to tell you my thoughts on your web novel! It was awesome! It wasn’t like anything I have read before, and although it was short, the friendships and emotions hit. The…[Read more]

What is your favorite thing about creative writing?
For me, it’s spending time getting to know and explore interesting characters and new worlds. The best writing sessions for me are the ones where I feel like I’m being transported into a new world and I’m the main character. Through words I can go on adventures and meet cool people and do cool…[Read more] -

I also enjoyed the LotR much more. I liked the Hobbit, but it was definitely geared more towards children. Not a bad thing, I just prefer more serious books. So I do like the LotR more than the Narnia series as well, but if I had to only choose one author to be a student of, it would still be C.S. Lewis for the reasons I said in my…[Read more]

My parents use “…” all the time when they text or email me. XD Not really related, but I thought it was a funny coincidence.
The mind mapping tactic is something that I have learned just recently. I used to write SUPER detailed outlines of my novels, but then I would get so invested into the main character’s POV that they would…[Read more]

Yay! I just downloaded it and can’t wait to start reading.
However, it may take me awhile to finish since I’m reading more books than anyone should be reading at a given moment. XD
Congrats again! You inspire me to start typing away at my novel and finish it!

Bennett is MUCH better than Barrett. The more I think about the name Bennett the more I like it.
Not 100% If the name will be the finale choice, (I might want a more modern sounding name), but it’s definitely an upgrade from Barrett. Thanks!
