The ice look could be explained as glass with imbedded etchings of snowflakes. Yes, it would probably be cold, but unless people are touching it, I doubt they’d catch on that something is very wrong with this item (which I assume is what you’re trying to do with this defying nature idea.)

Just a note: in my head the kitchens are built kinda like a star, with specialized kitchens branching off from the main room where LeQoi can survey everyone’s work at much the same time, or go from kitchen to kitchen as he likes.
