@sarafini Very nice, very nice! Though, wow—8 siblings? I would be so overwhelmed.
Definitely let us fellow Keepers know when your anthology comes out!!! I’d love to read your story 😀 -

@whalekeeper *joins your moment of silence* *resists urge to hum My Heart Will Go On* Lol, that’s such a mood 😂 Hopefully the fondness is winning out?? It does sound like a pretty epic story, ngl—especially if you have that nostalgia for it.
Heh, yes and no. I worked on it pretty much exclusively for like, seven years?? (Wow, that…made me feel…[Read more]

@whalekeeper I don’t really have any suggestions (naming characters is SO HARD oh my) but I just wanted to say that your character sounds so cool!! Phoenix powers sound so unique and generally just awesome. Also, props to you for revamping an old story!! *fistbump of solidarity as I recall the story that I started as a wee 13-year-old and has be…[Read more]

@sarafini Oooh I like this!! Especially the last line—really gives you a nice glimpse of the stakes. Also that’s super nice of you to write a short story for your parents for Christmas!!
A couple questions (because I’m curious and decided I’m just going to go ahead and be nosy about your story :P)
1. Does Jessica have a mom in the picture…[Read more]

@starofthenorth I blazed through the first 8 books in like a two-week span of time over a year ago, so pardon me if my memory is a little fuzzy 😛
I can definitely see why you would find the books too intense! I was rereading some of book eight yesterday actually, and was like… wow everything escalated very quickly. It’s definitely more in the…[Read more]

Kathleen!!! Welcome back friend!! I hope you’re doing well <3
Oooooh a new novel!! Always so exciting. How is drafting going so far?
As far as suggestions go: I’ll take one of your ideas a step further by proposing (aka daring) you to set the entire thing in a particularly decrepit Waffle House. (Just kidding. But for real, how…[Read more]

@daisy-torres It’s been forever since I’ve read any of these, but the Dreamtreaders series by Wayne Thomas Batson (the main character who is very much from our world is one of three-ish people who can enter the dream world) and The Hundred Cupboards by N.D. Wilson (a portal fantasy set partially in Kansas) might fit the bill. Both authors are Ch…[Read more]

@kathleenramm Thank you for your lovely introductory post. You have such beautiful reasons to write (I care a lot about the whole understanding one’s self thing, if you can’t tell *points at my forum signature*) Also, I saw that this was the question of the week in the KP newsletter a few days ago and ended up having an hour-long conversation with…[Read more]

@calidris Hello and welcome to the forum! I’m Elizabeth, and it’s so very nice to meet you! Would you care for a cup of virtual tea? I would recommend the Wild Berry Zinger if that strikes your fancy. 😛
Ah yes, a fellow Tolkienite! I love Tolkien so very much (as most people who have spent any amount of time talking to me knows). I’m currently…[Read more]

Elizabeth replied to the topic What's the most recent book you've finished? in the forum Topic of the Week 3 years, 3 months ago
@kathleenramm The characters are quite good! They definitely get more fleshed out as the series goes on (I’m thinking of one ((Fitz)) in particular), and the dynamics are all very interesting. It’s a large enough cast so that their interactions are never dull, if you know what I mean. I’m currently impatiently waiting on someone to return Book 6…[Read more]

@daisy-torres Oh man, THIS IS SO COOL!!! Like, seriously. I’m in love. 😀 What program(s) did you use to make it? It looks so cool and professional and, dare I say, #swag. (Do kids these days still say swag? I have no idea.)

@kathleenramm I love the Secret Garden!! I’m glad you enjoyed it–it’s such a charming read. 😀 For me, I’m going to cheat and name the last two I read, since one was a physical book and the other an audiobook.
The last audiobook I finished was Ember Falls by S.D. Smith. It wasn’t my favorite book I’ve ever read, but I did enjoy it. I’ve not…[Read more]
