@libby I really only dabbled in the ocarina. My dad had one, along with a book of LotR songs for ocarina, so I played around with it for a little bit and then got distracted and haven’t really touched it since… I’m really bad with sticking to instruments. XD
@joy-caroline Everything? XD I actually have a lot of fun singing in a variety of…[Read more]

@kathleenramm I don’t have the discipline to grow callouses for a string instrument (I liked violin for a while, but then I decided the callouses would be too much work XD), I don’t have good enough breath support for wind instruments (except ocarina, for some reason; I’m okay-ish at ocarina), I don’t read music very well, and I like/am good at…[Read more]

@daisy-torres Hello! I’m an all-the-time singer, very occasional songwriter, and maybe-someday drummer. XD What kind of music do you do?

@godlyfantasy12 I’m only familiar with KDP, personally, so I can’t help you much when it comes to self-pub routes. I think Ingramspark does hardcovers, so that might be a good option since that’s important to you. But I don’t know anything about Barnes and Noble Press, so it might be another workable option for that. The proof bar is annoying. XP…[Read more]

@e-k-seaver Well… making money off of your work is going to be kind of unpredictable regardless, I think. But as long as you can figure out who your target audience is and market to them, the extra personal aspect of self-pub marketing is actually likely to serve you well. The nice thing about indie publishing is that you can write what you want…[Read more]

@devastate-lasting Sure! You can probably find me by searching just my first name: Ariel. My profile pic is the same as on here. 🙂

@gracie-j Also, if you make this a recurring thing, it might be fun in the future to supply a list of prompts and make it a little more specific and potentially more challenging!

@gracie-j I commented a couple of questions. I’m part of a worldbuilding group on MeWe, so I’ll share this over there!

@lewilliams I have a bunch of posts about worldbuilding, if you want to give those a look and see if any of them are helpful. The blog Unusual Things also has some great worldbuilding posts. And Scout’s advice was good, too! Having a focusing point can be super helpful. (KP doesn’t like links, so I’ll link to my blog in a second post.…[Read more]

@devastate-lasting @joy-caroline
*nods* At this point I don’t think there’s anything I could say that wouldn’t be repeating myself, so I was stepping back anyway (for real this time, lol). I think this is the last point we could stop amicably, as far as this topic is concerned, so that’s definitely best. ;P

@joy-caroline So how is God’s use of sin to show His beauty and grace in the true Story any more sinful?
I know that. But the fact is, like Libby pointed out, we’re dead in sin by default. Which means our default position is on a path towards Hell. We’re automatically condemned unless God directly intervenes and turns our hearts away from that…[Read more]

@joy-caroline *coughs* I’m going to try to keep this to a single point and word it as a question so I don’t get in trouble (either with you or with myself XD). “It’s sin to cause people to make decisions that will get them to hell.” Is it sin for an author to write a story in which characters act immorally? If an author is outside the realm of t…[Read more]

@libby Ooh, that’s all very well-put. (And you’re welcome to continue. I only meant to personally step back. Although… I sometimes struggle to refrain from interjecting after I’ve told myself to step back, so I might return later. XD)
That’s all right! I won’t be tweaking the names until my next draft, anyway, so I’ll need it soon-ish but not…[Read more]

@gracie-j I tried to warn you. XD
Um… there are a lot on the list, so I’d have to go through them again. I know I referenced Romans 9 and Ephesians 2 in my overview of my beliefs of predestination, since those are the most overt passages. But there are some others. The one in… Numbers 23 also sticks in my head for some reason. Even though it…[Read more]

@joy-caroline Just because He knocks on every door regardless doesn’t mean He hasn’t already determined whether or not they’ll hear. He knocked on the door of Pharoah’s heart repeatedly and harshly (He did signs and wonders so that Pharoah would know He is LORD), and He still closed Pharoah’s heart to such reception “that His glory might be known”…[Read more]

@scripter-of-kingdoms Link’s Crossbow Training is the game that introduced me to the world. After that I played Twilight Princess, which has some of my favorite graphics. But my brother got Skyward Sword for Christmas and I find the worldbuilding in that one fascinating. I guess I’d say Skyward Sword is my favorite? But it’s hard to choose,…[Read more]

@joy-caroline I should probably give warning before we continue that I can kind of get into “debate mode” and sometimes sound more… aggressive? than I mean to. So if I do, 1) you’re welcome to call me out XD and 2) it’s not my intention and I very much respect your thoughts and appreciate the conversation. 🙂
