I know! I think that’s the very thing that makes him so relatable. We sympathize with him because of all the mental torture he put himself through, but at the same we are annoyed with how mean and pathetic he can be.
It’s not a character you want to relate to because, who wants to be Colin? But his positive character arc gives hope for…[Read more]

That sound like a really fun and chill way to write. Just letting ideas flow as you write the novel.
Where you find you get the most story ideas from?
Following characters is the best right? So many fun and out-of-no-where ideas come to me when I do that. Plus writing is so much easier.
I’ve done it with outlined…[Read more]

Haha, that’s okay! Grace gave some great tips!
It’s cool how you just took up a pen and started writing stories when you were younger!
Funny, I don’t think I remember a time where I didn’t know what outlining was, I guess because I grew up in a family of writers. XD
It totally makes sense that you outline Biblical…[Read more]

After reading Grace’s most recent article on pantsing, it got me curious about how many on here are pantsers. And of those who are, if you have any techniques or tips you use to keep your story in order and not coming out as a complete mess haha. XD
I’m more of a meticulous planner, but I’m considering pantsing a short story so I’m looking for…[Read more]

@lewilliams I just looked up the Keeper of the Lost Cities series and it sounds really interesting. How are the characters? (I’m seriously considering ordering yet another book from the library lol)
That’s been happening a lot lately to me too recently. I used to stick up my nose to classics because I thought they were dull and…[Read more]

That’s interesting. It would be cool to look back through the book to find what exactly it was missing that made you unable to connect. That’s what I love to do when I read a book I don’t like. Pinpoint everything little thing that made me dislike it. It really helps me out with my writing.
Ooo, what book was the best book you’ve read…[Read more]

Ooo, that sounds really cool. The vibe sounds like something I’d definitely be into.
Did you have any favorite characters in the book?
Animal behaviour books? Is there a reason, or do you just like to learn about animals? I’m intrigued haha. XD
Oof. Yeah, pretty much every story hinges on the characters. If I don’t…[Read more]

There are some surprisingly good Star Wars books out there. Like better than the movies good.
A negative character arc? Man, I now have to order it from the library now. XD
Have you read any other Star Wars books or was Lost Stars your first?
My brother has been telling me to read Children of Hurin and the Silmarill…[Read more]

What’s the most recent book you’ve finished? What did you think of it?
Just last night I finished reading The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I grew up watching the 1993 film adaptation, but have never read the book until now.And I was presently surprised! This is the most I’ve enjoyed a book in awhile. The story is sweet and simple,…[Read more]

Although I’m a bit late to this party, WELCOME!
Christian Nolan, C.S. Lewis, and J.R.R Tolkien are definitely some of my favorite as well. Whose your favorite Tolkien and C.S. Lewis character?
Computer science? Sounds cool, but intense haha. What made you decide to study it in collage?
How long have you been writing and what made you…[Read more]

Fancy hat competition? I do believe that was with @william-starkey, but were you posing as him during the entire competition?
If so, then it now makes more sense of why it was so easy to beat you. @william-starkey would never wear a hat from Walmart to a fancy hat competition.
Thanks for clearing things up about that.

That’s wonderful how you pursued writing the story that God wanted you to do. It could even be that God lessened your passion for writing so you would focus on writing the story that really mattered to him. It could be so easy to forget about it and let it go, but it’s so cool that you went through with it.
I think God has recently…[Read more]

I totally get that now. My short life so far is so blessed and comfortable, but there have been some pretty low points in which my writing inspiration was most high.
Has something different ever happened to you in which you were particularly inspired to write?
Yeah, that’s exactly how I feel sometimes. But the good…[Read more]

@will_starke are you sure you are not @william-starkey ? Because I feel like if someone actually tried to pose as you they would try harder.
Your hat is quite exquisite I must say, the feather is a nice touch. Did you get it from the Walmart?

Have you ever fallen out of love with writing? What do you think was the reason?
I’ve fallen out of love with writing a few times, and after some reflection, these times usually happened when my life was mundane and too comfortable. And on the flip side when life was hectic or when I going through something super different, way out of my comfort…[Read more]

So fun! These are from the messy first draft of the story I’m writing with my siblings
“Geez, Ted, I thought you were a superhero.”
“We climb onto the roof and break into the skylight. You unplug the freezers and smash all the ice cream cones, and I’ll find the secret recipes and vault. Got it?”
“Did you bring the grappling hook and ha…
