What come to you first? Plot or Characters?
For me, honestly it’s both. Sometimes a cool character comes to me sometimes a cool plot. However, that’s a bit of a cop-out answer so I’ll say what most commonly comes to me. And that would be plot ideas. When fleshing out a story idea I always focus on characters, however, the basic premise of the…[Read more]

Ah, don’t be sorry. Waiting makes seeing a new article all that much more exciting, plus I totally get being busy (being bored is literally a luxury for me XD ). But anyway, that’s amazing! I looked at the Author Conservatory’s website tonight actually to learn what it was… and it looks spectacular! I may have t look deeper…[Read more]

Abigail.M. replied to the topic Some questions about characters in the forum Characters 2 years, 9 months ago
Okay, first of all, I gotta say that I love this. Second of all, I have quite a handful of characters that these questions apply to. Thank you in advance for this topic by the way.
Is there a characters I don’t like, but don’t hate either?
Okay so this might put Shannon Messenger fans on the defensive, but I’m gonna say Fitz Vacke…[Read more] -

Awesome blurb! I liked it a lot actually, but sadly I don’t have that kind of platform at the moment to sign up. Though I wish you the best! 😀

Abigail.M. replied to the topic I finally read Green Ember!! in the forum Book Discussions 2 years, 9 months ago
Hi, Keilah! I’ve never read Green Ember before, but it sounds awesome. That’s a really wonderful thing about Kingdom Pen, I learn about new books to read, from other writers. I’m totally going to read this one:) What’s your favorite part about it?

Hi, Annabelle! I apologize for replying to you so late, (I can often take awhile with replying on Kingdom Pen, so thank you for your patience). I read the excerpt of your book and thought it was awesome!! I always love a good fantasy/action/romance read:) And of course, here’s my email: abigailmetzger73@gmail.com   where I rec…[Read more]

@godlyfantasy12 Whoa, I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! 😀 It was enjoyable to read, and I LOVE the rhyme you had going on!!!!! FANTASTIC poem, girl!!!!!! 😀
My only suggestion is that it seemed like there needed to be a period between “dreams” and “Pitch” in this part –> “shattered dreams, Pitch black“.

That’s really cool!
Of course, putting you into the world to pretty cool, but letting you naturally fall into stories in your own way instead of forcing you is also really cool.
Was there a particular audiobook that you found that made you interested in listening to more?
All of your inspirations from friends to…[Read more]

Who impacted your writing the most?
(This can be someone you know personally or not)
For me, it’s my older sister. I loved reading her and my older brother’s stories growing up, which is kinda saying a lot considering I didn’t like reading at the time.
I shared a room with my sister since I was born, so I grew up seeing my sister come up with…[Read more]

That sounds fun! I’m like you in how I don’t usually stay in one world very long. Usually just one book. Probably because after each book I want to try something totally different.
What current world are you working on right now? Have you made any recent developments with it?
ooh, yeah, I really learned the…[Read more]

OoOoOoOOo THIS IS SO EXCITING!!!! I am EXTREMELY stoked for the Reflections released. @jenwriter17 You did! Sorry you were tagged, I just copy-pasted from someone else’s post XD
@power, it’s not a book for the faint of heart
@koshka, The Reflections is a bit morbid at times but it’s also clean, for context my 13-yr-old sister is totally good reading it.
@daisy-torres
that would be awesome! -

Okay so that title is a touch clickbait-y but also mostly true. The Reflections is a YA Christian Dystopian releasing April 8th. Advanced Reader Copy signups are available here. I only have 10 copies to send out because of my budget, but if you have 300 or more followers on any social platform, you might be able to get a cop…[Read more]

I started entering competitions and submitting work to magazines/anthologies when I was about 13 I think? I’m pretty sure I was first published at 14, and then had several other publications after that.
