I don’t have many opinions on the Civil War in fiction. I literally don’t think I have ever read a book set in the Civil War? Ever?? Nope, I’m pretty sure I haven’t. However! I do have opinions on the Revolutionary War. My family is English (my grandparents came out to Aus in the late 60s, and my cousins and other family members still…[Read more]

SeekJustice replied to the topic What was the most difficult scene for you to write and why? in the forum Topic of the Week 3 years, 11 months ago
That’s quite hard for me to answer! Death scenes are hard for me to write emotionally speaking, especially as someone who has had two very beloved family members die traumatically. It’s just hard for me to treat them as blase as I used to when I was a younger writer and I struggle with them quite a lot.
More mentally though, stupid…[Read more]

I’m around too if you ever want to drop me a line 😀 We sound like we’re at pretty similar stages in writing. I started writing when I was ten or eleven but I’ve been writing seriously (for me, that means with the goal of being traditionally published) since I was about sixteen, so almost five years now working towards being…[Read more]

Why The Horse and His Boy?? I am remarkably curious. I didn’t really grow up sheltered at all, so when my more conservative friends (this happens to me in real life just as much as on the internet) say they weren’t able to read/watch certain things I get confused 😀

@lewilliams This is such a cool idea! But, sadly, I am taking a break from writing for a bit to avoid burnout after all I did during the year. But I’ll tag a bunch more people for ya 🙂

SeekJustice replied to the topic Hello Everyone in the forum Start HERE 3 years, 11 months ago
Hey there! You sound like a fascinating person! I’d love to hear more about your mechanical engineering and your woodworking? What sort of things do you make? I really want to get into leather working but I’ve never tried doing any sort of woodwork. and bookbinding obviously sounds awesome!
Who are some of your favourite authors?

What’s your blog’s name?
Kind of… 😛 I opened one up a while back and wrote a few posts but I’m terrible with consistency and dropped off from it. Lately I’ve been thinking of trying again, maybe putting up some of the scenes or songs from the mini musical I wrote for my little sisters, or publishing some of my poems, but I just n…[Read more]

@devestate-lasting
I used Microsoft Word for years. I eventually stopped using it because, turns out, Word doesn’t like 100,000 plus words, which is fair. It’s still a great program and I use it for writing articles, short stories and essays.
For my novels, I now use Scrivener. Like Jenna said, it’s not free but it’s 100% worth the money, and…[Read more]

SeekJustice replied to the topic Describe your writing process in 3 words. What are they and why? in the forum Topic of the Week 3 years, 11 months ago
Absolutely barking mad.
I think that pretty much sums it up??
Lol, but seriously. I think I would say Passionate, Obsessive, and Distractible. I am very passionate and I often use writing as my tool for bringing awareness to things that upset me, or things that make me really happy. I would like to think both my process and my…[Read more]

SeekJustice replied to the topic How Do Y'all Feel About… in the forum General Writing Discussions 3 years, 11 months ago
I’ve got mixed feelings on this and I think a lot of it has to do with different cultures and subcultures. For example, in Australia cursing is very prevalent and especially in my subculture (rural, farmers and dog trainers) it is even more so. Therefore I grew up hearing a lot of swearing (though my parents didn’t swear) and I’m not…[Read more]

SeekJustice replied to the topic Which one of your characters would you most likely be friends with and why? in the forum Topic of the Week 3 years, 11 months ago
@gracie-j Thank you for that rousing welcome!
It’s my little love letter to British mythology (which in turn inspired my article for this month). I’m keeping the main premise under wraps for now, but basically its about two brothers who are living in a fantasy world that was ruled by the Dark Lord for centuries, before he was…[Read more]
