Lin replied to the topic What motivates you to write? What do you do when you lack motivation? in the forum Topic of the Week 6 years, 1 month ago
@kathleenramm Recently I’ve gotten into review swaps on one of those webnovel sites, and it’s been pretty good for my motivation. Now I really want to go work on my projects.
Essentially I am constantly working on three projects at a time: my main stuff, which is handwritten; a webnovel; and working on typing and redrafting what I have already…[Read more]

Lin replied to the topic What's a genre of fiction you want to write in, but haven't yet? in the forum Topic of the Week 6 years, 1 month ago
@kathleenramm Probably the former. I once had a short story idea for the Great Chicago Fire of 1873, but I managed to incorporate that into fantasy.

@kathleenramm I think it would be historical fiction.
There’s a lot of aesthetics/time periods that I really like, (1920’s, 1930’s, 1870’s) but I guess the reason why I haven’t is because there’s just too much research to do.
Maybe one day! Who knows!

@warrenluther04 Nice! A lot of people I know think that anime is ugly, but I think they’re looking in the wrong time period.
Do you have any other pets besides your dog?

@morwen Legolas is indeed cool. Since you know so much about LOTR, might I ask you, is Legolas’s hair brown or blonde?
Also, what other books do you like?

@morwen Hello and welcome!
I’m also homeschooled, and I’m an ISFJ! I have some friends who really love LOTR. Who is your favorite character and why?

Lin replied to the topic What made you start writing stories? How old were you when you started? in the forum Topic of the Week 6 years, 1 month ago
@kathleenramm I remember quite vividly as a kid saying, “I don’t think I’d like to write stories. I think I’ll just read them.”
Welp, numerous years and ten manuscripts later, here I am.
I first started writing for school, I suppose. Around eight or nine I began creating a world in my head, and after I wrote that story for school, I was like,…[Read more]

@warrenluther04 So what kind of digital art do you draw? (Ahh kind of envious of people who can draw their own characters…I do draw, but not frequently, and not well enough for whatever I see in my head :’))

Lin replied to the topic What was the premise of your first novel? in the forum Topic of the Week 6 years, 2 months ago
@merieshenanigans Oh I remember Ever After High. Those were cool books. I liked The Princess Tales by Gail Carson Levine, but I remember REALLY loving The League of Princes series by Christopher Healy. Those three books were among my favorite books as a child.

@warrenluther04 Warren! I remember you!
I will go down your list and comment randomly:
– I’m actually kinda surprised to see that you’re younger than me haha (though depends on the month)
-Are you still working on that story with Lucie and Sydeny and Charles and the superhero premise? (At least I think that was it? It’s been a while lol)

@kathleenramm I have the first one in my house, but I haven’t touched it. It’s definitely on my to-read.
Let’s see…maybe ten to twelve? I started officially “writing” when I was twelve, I think.

@kathleenramm As my first novel has sprung into a very large and interwoven project, I think I’ll recount the first short story that I wrote that launched me into writing.
It was a fairy-tale retelling, I think. I had different characters from different stories come together to…do something. I can’t quite remember what. But I do remember that…[Read more]

@purenostalgia Firstly, I just wanted to tell you a) I like your username and b) I had your profile picture for my wallpaper for the longest time.
For short stories I generally think of a concept or a scene that I want to write and then I surround it with other things. Develop it a little…something like that. I have a large cast of characters…[Read more]

Okay, what about this? The main character creates two different universes. In one universe, the love interest helps him become a better person. In the other one, the love interest dies, and then he just continues down a downward spiral into evilness. Evil James goes to the other parallel universe and commits a crime (preferably a…[Read more]
