Alexa Autorski replied to the topic WIP First 3 Chapters in the forum Novel Critique Requests 3 years, 5 months ago
First of all, I think that’s so brave of you to be posting your first three chapters!! 🙂 I know it can be scary to let other people see your work, and it’s totally normal to feel nervous about this (I know I did), but I would LOVE to read through your chapters!! I can already tell you’re such a talented writer. 😉 And I love fantasy…[Read more]

I just now realized you mentioned you already liked some of Tolkien and C.S. Lewis’ works (and owned TWS), so sorry about that. XD. Also, I just remembered: if you ever want to try out a nonfiction book, you could look into The Writer’s Journey. It helps you structure your story, figure out character roles, and also touches on the T…[Read more]

*grins cheekily* *rubs hands together* Oh goodness, thank you for beginning such a lovely (and helpful) topic! You’re not the only one racking the shelves for good books. XD Anyways, I’d love to help you out if I could with finding some book recommendations, my dear writing friend. 😉 Though, I think we have similar taste, so most of…[Read more]

For me? I always put the scene in the parenthesis (perhaps tell what happens in a couple of sentences) and then just move on. If you’re feeling the urge to write the next scene, then totally go for it! I’ve found that writing the scenes I’m in the mood for helps me #1 stay motivated and not get bored with my story, and #2 write more…[Read more]

Hey!! I know you mentioned wanting to see that artwork of Evie a while ago, so I thought I’d post it here and let you see it:) I also illustrated Arya as well as Newton and Caira’s daughter, Isla, so I hope you don’t mind if I share those as well!! Anyways, here’s Evie’s:

Amazing question! For me, I would choose these characters:
1. Alana, a huntress/reindeer shepherdess who is fond of archery and has a reindeer companion.
2. Caira, the heroine, fond of studying and reading, has telekinesis and an owl companion.
3. Newton, a former antagonist now turned scavenger/thief, has a raven for a…[Read more]

Oh, either way is totally fine by me!!:) I don’t get called ‘Alexa’ very often, so that 1,000% works for me!! 😀 Ah, unfortunately I had gotten behind on school, so I had to cram everything in before May ended, but now that I have free time, it’s been so much more relieving!! Aww, thank you!! It is such a good feeling to be falling…[Read more]

First of all, you’re definitely not alone with this. I have been striving to draft my nearly four-year-old novel for almost a year now and the second draft of anything is hard. But you’re 100% right, giving up is not an option. I totally understand the feeling of having an incredible story in your head, the action and characters…[Read more]
