@gracie-j I don’t know how the balance looks overall, but in the groups I end up in I’m usually one of around half a dozen Calvinists. Which leads to fun debates. ;D But yeah. XD

@nova21 Oh, cool! It’s always exciting to find people who agree, since I find I’m usually in the minority on that issue. XD I hope the article helps. ;D

@gracie-j Ahhhh, straight to the point of theology that most people don’t like me for. XD I firmly believe in predestination and I can debate it all day. Which is part of why it’s now a more-or-less off-limits topic in another of my Christian writing groups, because a small handful of us kept having the same debate over and over and everyone got…[Read more]

*waves* I don’t know how much of this will be useful, but… I’m Reformed Baptist (at least I grew up Baptist; I understand both Baptist and Presbyterian views on baptism, so as far as that goes I’m not sure which label is technically more accurate at this point, lol). “Reformed” means I believe in the Doctrines of Grace and Five Solas, which form…[Read more]

@gracie-j Great idea for a topic!
Welp, I am Chinese, and also a weeb, so I’d say that I know a lot about Asian culture. Probably not everything, but if you ever need help I can probably search some things up for you…
Which is interesting since recently I’ve started several projects in a Chinese high school setting, and I, only knowing the…[Read more]

I love the sound of this thread! It’ll be a great resource when a few more people have jumped on board.
For me, I’m Australian, so hit me up for all your down under needs (which reminds me, down under is a term only used by Americans/Australians who are trying to sound like Americans, so don’t take that as authentic Aussie lingo). I’ve…[Read more]

@writerlexi1216 That’s alright! I haven’t actually been on here very much either. XD You should definitely read Prince Caspian. It’s probably one of my favorites in the series. It’s been quite a while since I read The Horse and His Boy, so I should probably reread it! I actually just started reading a book from the perspective of Lewis’s wife…[Read more]

@iamwritehere1920 The third draft. I’m considering the story pretty much complete at this point. 🙂

@gracie-j Ooh I love it! Your imagery is beautiful! I’m like really interested in every single one of the characters which you presented! I do want to read more! I especially want to know more about the relationship between the Guardian guy and the person in the water. Really nice job!

@abigail-m It depends on what stage you’re at. While I was working on my second draft, I had two author friends I trust read it as I went and give feedback, so they got it in more-or-less one-chapter chunks.
This next round I’m doing is specifically sensitivity readers so I can get feedback on the chronic illness representation and make sure I…[Read more]

@gracie-j It’s a sci-fi/post-apocalyptic story about an… inventor? Engineer? Something along those lines. XD Who lives in a hangar in the middle of a wasteland and has just genetically engineered a dragon that will one day open a portal to an alternate dimension where the world can rebuild. Except… things happen, of course. XD

@abigail-m Ooh, very cool! Just be careful not to rush into publishing; I speak from experience, lol. But that’s an awesome goal! 🙂
Thank you! I’m very excited to get it finished and published. XD I’ll be sending it to a small group of readers in March, so I’m looking forward to getting some more outside feedback! I’ve been editing on my own and…[Read more]

@gracie-j *blushing* It’s just a collection of 60-80k word novels…not that much if you break it up.
But ay congrats on your own work, Grace! I don’t think I could write that long for a singular project!

@kathleenramm Thank you! The blurb is this:
Dragon ink allows writers to set history in stone—or to change it.
Duyên Lai’s dreams are realized when she’s admitted into the ranks of the calligraphers, authors considered trustworthy enough to defend time from those who would change it. She’s thrilled at the opportunity to record her country’…

@e-k-seaver Happy to help. 🙂
I chose it largely for the freedom it provides. In the beginning, especially freedom as far as a release timeline goes. I didn’t have to wait to hook an agent, which was important to me then as a young author wanting to get started and is important to me now as an author who wants to share my work without having to…[Read more]
