Oh, sea serpents are very cool! Have you seen the one in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader‘s movie? It’s a serious monster. 🙂 My favorite mythical animal would likely be a dragon, but I love the idea of phoenixes, griffins, and the rest.
Awesome! The only one I’m familiar with from that list is LOTR; the others sound really cool though!…[Read more]

Oh, awesome! It’s been a while since I’ve read them, too, actually.
Woohoo! Another pineapple pizza person! I love it too.
Ah, yes, griffins are very cool.
*gasps* You’re a Jane Austen fan as well??? I’ve read Emma too! I’ve read four of her novels, actually, and my favorite is Persuasion, hands down! Even Pride and Prejudice has to ta…[Read more]

thanks! And here’s more!
Kaunon stared in horror as Alinna was flung down into the water. He was now surrounded by dragons; Death Rams, but these were average size, even if they were as nasty as their alpha.
Kaunon tried to get to Alinna, but every time he reached the dragon taunting her it would snarl and throw her to a…

@keilah-h ah ok! I figured. Yeah, it’s so fun to make up peoples and species… imagination is the limit for the most part. And that would be cool to do!
this may or may not interest you…. but the Serpent People in my story are (very loosely) inspired by the description of giants given by the Native American tribes. it’s a scary thing to look…[Read more]

Awesome topic!!! Here’s a pretty decent one from my fantasy WIP. It needs punctuational edits though…
The clearing was silent. Not even a ryip’s chirp broke the stillness. The long grass was smashed and flattened, the brush along the edge of the trees looked like it had been trampled, and in many places, the sod had been ripped up i…

Lydia S. replied to the topic Maps (creative title, I know) in the forum Fantasy 3 years, 3 months ago
Ah, yes, I understand. Honestly, I don’t really use maps. The places in my worlds pop into existence as I need them. It’s probably not the best way to make geological decisions, but it’s what I’ve done so far. 😉 I’m totally going to check out that website @daisy-torres mentioned though… it sounds awesome!!!

Agh, this is such a tempting offer! Unfortunately, my plate is kinda full right now, so I don’t think I’d be able to get it done by the deadline. 🙁 I hope you get the feedback you’d like! Congrats on finishing a novel!
And, @gracie-j, thanks for tagging me!

I’m late (this is a theme in my commenting life rn… *facepalm*), but here are a couple of my MCs’ first lines. As a side note, BRILLIANT idea.
These two say their first three lines in the same scene and to each other. First, there’s Trevor, a moody, brooding bully (cinnamon roll type guy, though he doesn’t know it at the moment). Then,…[Read more]

Welcome to the forum!
*cheers* Another pineapple pizza person, yay! And I have to agree with your assessment of Narnia vs. LOTR. Tolkien wins, hands down (He is likely the author I admire most), but I also am and forever will be a Narnia nerd. 😛
Now for the customary welcoming questions:
1) What is your favorite mythical animal?
2)…[Read more]

Welcome to the forum, Annika!
I wholeheartedly approve of your hobbies as I myself enjoy all three of those things! And your book choices are also wonderful (J.R.R. Tolkien is probably the writer I admire most).
Fantasy is very fun to write and to read! Have you by chance read the DragonKeeper Chronicles by Donita K. Paul? It’s a…[Read more]
