@lewilliams Ooo those sound fantastic!! I will totally look into them, thank you so much!!! And yes, NaNo is going fantastic!!! This is my first year to dive in and fully commit, but I’m loving it. I really hit a slump after finishing one of my books, and then things got busy so I never tried pulling myself out. Nano realllyy helped me get better…[Read more]

@sparrowhawke Ah, ’tis my time to shine.
I’ve read so much manga in the last few years I’m not sure if I should be ashamed or not. At this point I’ve been desensitised to most things so I’m going to watch myself when recommending stuff.
When people ask for reccs usually the first one I recommend is Fullmetal Alchemist! It’s absolutely perfect,…[Read more]

Lin replied to the topic Which story was the quickest to write and which was the slowest? in the forum Topic of the Week 4 years, 5 months ago
Shortest was a quick three page short called “Delusionary” that was based off of a quick two line conversation someone and I had during rehearsal one day. But short stories aside, I can write 50-80k work in 40 days. But that doesn’t count, actually. Which perfectly segues me into…

Which story took you the shortest to write and which took the longest? Why?
So for me the shortest amount of time it took to write a novel was 5 months and that was my siblings and my “Cliche Story”.Yuh, yeah. That was the working title that never got change because we wrote it mostly to have fun. Heh. We purposely wrote it to be as cliché as…[Read more]

Wait, this is Smoke and Mirrors??? *totally just got a thousand times more excited* YESSS!!!!! I did read a few of the chapters you had posted and was so IN LOVE with it!!!!!!!!! Hahahahaha, I feel you, sista. I’m a die-hard panster who writes a bunch of first draft-filled-rambling nonsense like there’s no tomorrow. 😂 But you keep…[Read more]

@daisy-torres It’s been forever since I’ve read any of these, but the Dreamtreaders series by Wayne Thomas Batson (the main character who is very much from our world is one of three-ish people who can enter the dream world) and The Hundred Cupboards by N.D. Wilson (a portal fantasy set partially in Kansas) might fit the bill. Both authors are Ch…[Read more]

@issawriter7 Tbh, I haven’t read a ton in that genre either XD I love the creativity the genre has to offer though! (Oo really? I definitely need to get a copy of it. It sounds amazing!!)
Eeek that makes me really happy!! I absolutely have plans to publish! I am only 12 chapters in at the moment, but this story holds such a warm place in my…[Read more]

Awwwww, Ella, I am SO, SO, SO, SO sorry to hear that. 💔 I had covid over a year ago, so I can DEFINITELY relate (except my school was online, so I somehow managed to be sick with covid and keep up with school all at the same time… don’t ask me how). I just wanted to let you know that (1) you’re not alone and (2) I’ll keep you in my…[Read more]

I’ve just recently been introduced to urban fantasy, so I haven’t ever read any books, as knowledge serves, that are in that genre. (I believe I heard someone say @e-k-seaver novella The House That Didn’t End was urban fantasy. I *sniffs* sadly haven’t gotten my copy yet, but I think it’ll be REALLY epic!!!)
Anyway, urban fantasy’s…[Read more]

you didn’t have to cross the “better than a comedian” part out. I’ll take that compliment proudly.
Thanks for the story, the yoda quote, and tips. But honestly, time isn’t my problem. I have several hours of free time a day where I just lay down and stare up at the sky and contemplate my life and daydream about what could have…[Read more]

Well, if you ever need a beta reader, critique, or anything else in the future, I am always available if you ever want. I hadn’t been critiquing or reading for awhile (very busy) but I’m happy to say that I can once again critique or you know, just give general thoughts or point out flaws and strengths that I see. But that is of cou…[Read more]

You’re hilarious XD (100% better than a comedian) That’s devastating…Hmm, I guess everyone may or will have different advice for you here, but I’d say the best way to keeping writing and hold onto those protein shakes, is to club your keyboard.

@elanor it’s totally fine XD
It really is amazing!! I lovee books about Ireland and the Sea. And Vikings. That book just hits me differently than other books do, ngl XD
Isn’t it though?? That’s honestly one of the reasons I love writing so much. It’s nice to know that you have a way to help others when they need it.

@trahia-the-minstrel I’ve read the whole of Assassination Classroom and I agree that the content/humor can get very. Um. Yeah. But also the overall story and themes are really good, so I view it in a positive light. Dr. Stone I’ve gotten a lot of ads for, but haven’t watched it yet.
Um. Content for Code Geass (it’s been years)… I watched it…[Read more]
